I was just thinking about the jiraiya gaiden when jiraiya and his team fought hanzo the salamander, they were struggling and at the end of the battle he called them the sannin. and jiraiya was surprised when he found out that pain killed hanzo and took over the hidden village in the rain (or w/e its called) because he said nobody could kill hanzo. that means nobody, not madara, not minato, not any of the kages, noone. so wut does that make pain, and if pain is that powerful why bother takin orders from madara? if you read the manga and feel like spoiling at least put spoiler markers on. discuss away!

Madara's true power is beyond that of Hanzo's or anyone, by hype. Madara was powerful enough to rival the First Hokage who could have defeated Hanzo. Minato's power level is the same as the First's I believe. (maybe Third's can't remember) so he would be able to defeat Hanzo either way.

Note that this is all by hype.

Anyway, Pain listens to Madara because Madara manipulated Nagato.
