Rep is not a form of communication. It's a form of rewarding someone for a knowledgeable and/or helpful post (good quality posts in general but watch what you rep), or to down rep someone for a bad post (something that has nothing to do with the topic of thread unless it's in the off topic section as well as flaming, or other offensive posts)
