If given the choice, I wouldn't want to become a Jinchuriki host... simply because people would try and manipulate me to use its powers for their own needs. And also the fact that I'd be hunted by a bunch of people for the beast itself, so it wouldn't be much fun to have to worry about that all the time.

No, power can be used for the general good, but it's hard to protect people who do not trust you. In fact, if I were a Jinchuuriki, I'd be forced to fight, not just for the people I care about, but in order to protect myself.

The Akatsuki would use the byuubi within me for their purposes if they were to catch me, and I'd be unable to protect anyone. I couldn't because I'd have to run away so the people I care about do not get hurt if they were weaker than me.

Naruto has always been surrounded by strong companions, but what if I were in a village that was weak. I could either stay to protect them, knowing that stronger people were out there after me, or I could run and worry about them anyways.

A Jinchuuriki's life is not pleasant. They have power, but a lot of the world is against them. It's a lonely, harsh life. Only people with strong determination can live it.

You can get power in different ways, but the Jinchuuriki live lives like outcasts- even if they have friends, lots of other people see them as monsters that'll attack them. The hard truth is that they can if they lose control of themselves.

Also, the power of the byuubi is not only destructive, but violent. Sage Mode is another way to get power, as long as you can learn it, and keep your right mind.

Yes, I would want to be host to a tailed beast. I know the risks, but its something I wouldn't mind being if it kept my village safe from its destructive tendencies. I would learn to control and harness its chakra, and use it to protect my village and its inhabitants.
If the Akatsuki want to hunt me down, I say let them. I'll show no mercy and let them experience just a small sample of the power of a Jinchuriki host, but I won't be stupid about it. Everyone has their limits, even if they have a great amount of chakra in their arsenal.

lol. That tailed-beast and Killer Bee actually get along fairly well. It would be nice to hang out with a beast you can talk to fairly evenly, but nonetheless, it's still a hard life being a Jinchuuriki. If I had a choice, i'd still say no- unless i was in a situation where I would be in equally grave danger either way and couldn't survive without it. But hey, I've made my decision already. I'd honestly rather not have one.

I'm not being weak- imagine having the villagers hate you like with Naruto and the others, your own father trying to kill you like with Gaara- the one person he trusted having turned out to hate him all along... at least some manage to find loyal companions, but others never do. The byuubi aren't all kind- Gaara cannot sleep for fear of the Shukaku taking control, the Kyuubi constantly tempts Naruto with its offer of power. And then Akatsuki is after them. It's not cool. You have power, but it's a hard, sad life. That is my point.

Yeah, it's lonely, hard, and painful. Even Naruto's non-Jinchuuriki friends cannot fully comprehend all his pain- Hinata would be closest since she's always watched him and knows how it feels to be an outcast of sorts being weaker than her younger sibling

See, Naruto is the hero, Gaara and Killer Bee have played important parts, but not all the Jinchuuriki are heros. And no matter what else they may be, they have all been outcasts in their lives. Naruto and Killer Bee act like fools just following their own path, but they have felt the loneliness of an outcast, being despised by the other villagers. They have felt the sorrow and pain, the feeling of being wanted by others (Akatsuki) desiring their power for evil purposes. Power is not all about being the hero. It can isolate you, make people shun you, especially terrible, destructive power like the byuubi

I didn't mean my post to sound like a flame, sorry about that. I've been without a single friend for 16 years so I guess I meet that criteria for strong-willed. George, Rafael, before you become heroes, you would have to endure much pain and loneliness. Rather than becoming the hero, you might end up like Gaara, but meet nobody to right your path and you would die a lonely killer. And even if you become a hero like Naruto. THINK ABOUT IT. He didn't become a hero using a wild, destructive power. He 'defeated' Pain by reminding Nagato that war is not the only method of gaining peace.

Even if there cannot be peace without war, Naruto has shown that relying on destructive violence like the kyuubi (and the other byuubi) is not only unnecessary, but can lead to the casualties of friends and allies (such as when he attacked Sakura and when he attacked Jiraiya during training)

Unfortunately, telling people you'll kill them will cause people to fear you and not like you. Gaara is liked because he is now kind and protects the village. He is silent and stoic, but good-hearted. He means for the best for the village and sacrificed himself to protect them. That is why he is so loved. Not for being a Jinchuuriki, but for his sincere dedication to his village and its people.

Naruto naturally has 4x the amount of chakra Kakashi has- Kakashi said that himself. He uses his natural chakra to generate all those clones, not the Kyuubi's power

Gaara would've won if he didn't have to defend the village. He's lucky that Deidara was only supposed to scout, not fight, or he would've been taken sooner. Akatsuki work in pairs typically, after all.

And sure, he would've had a greater chance if he went into Shukaku mode, but the reason he doesn't tells the story of how the Jinchuuriki feel about being what they are. Before, he spent sleepless nights afraid it'd take over. The Shukaku also causes great damage- as can be seen from his battle against Naruto during the invasion during the Chuunin exam time. It would have wrecked the village and more happily.

It may have gone differently if Gaara had used the Shukaku, but I can understand why he didn't. I'd use a tailed beast's power only if absolutely necessary.

Gaara had a family, but they treated him like a monster. If his family had accepted him as they do now, he would have never been murderous and bloodthirsty.
When Gaara met Naruto, it was similar to the situation with Naruto and Iruka. They found someone who gave them purpose.


I am willing to brave that feeling. My character had her family, except for her traitorous brother, who hated her guts and on many occasions attempted to harm her. Though, family can only do so much. It wasn't until she met that one person that gave her purpose did she break out of her reserved shell and show her true colours.

Just as Naruto found friends before Gaara, so Gaara faced many ninja who attempted to kill him when he was a child. It depends on the people and whether or not they accept you and how.

I know that many of us would accept a dangerous power to protect our precious ones, but power can hurt those very people. Gaara didn't use the Shukaku because then he'd lose control in the middle of the village. Naruto refuses to use the Kyuubi anymore because he hurt Jiraiya and Sakura with it. The byuubi aren't easy to control even if Killer Bee and the Jinchuuriki of the Two-tails were able to use the power of their byuubi.

It's not entirely reasonable, but they view Jinchuuriki as monsters. It's plausible in a way seeing as how it's possible for Jinchuuriki to lose control while borrowing the byuubi's power

Only, there's a lot of emotional stress, think about having everyone in your life reject you, mock you, treat you like trash. It'd be harsh.

Remember, Naruto wondered if he would have turned out like Gaara if Iruka wasn't there for him. Gaara turned out like that to protect himself

lol. Killerbee can. I was just pointing out that Lee has no byuubi. And not every Jinchuuriki can control their power. Some other Jinchuuriki for the 8-tails might not have been able to. It depends on a person's compatibility with a byuubi.

I think this discussion is wearing thin... I've mentioned that Jinchuuriki live a lonely, isolated life treated as trash and that their ability to control the byuubi varies according to compatibility, but nonetheless- the byuubi powers are violent and highly destructive- not to be used around a crowd of civilians and allies. There isn't much else to discuss :/

If put into a situation where put alone, I would make do as best I could. But if I don't need to be, why put myself into a situation where I am? It's not until having experienced true isolation and hatred, that we can understand what it feels like to be alone- to have our own people turn on us/shun us. From Naruto and Gaara's thoughts, we can see how it feels, even using our own imagination.

However, I do understand that anyone who really cares about their people would accept a power to protect them even at risks to themselves. Only, if the power had the potential to harm allies, I understand why Naruto refuses to rely upon the kyuubi and tries to learn other techniques.
