I don't hate Sasuke but I'm sure most people hate him because he's
1) Selfish
2) Close minded
3) Mean
4) Not responsible at all
5) He has no regard for life
6) Always blames everyone else but himself for how his life turned out
7) Keeps using Itachi as an excuse for how he's behaving
8) He lets people manipulate him easily
9) He just got his MS and MS techniques from Itachi but didn't have to work for them
10) Kishi always gives him like 3 power ups at a time
11) His strategies keep getting worse
12) He whines constantly non-stop about everything

I'm pretty sure there are other reasons if I think of anything else I'll edit. ;)

I can't tell you why others hate him. I can only tell you why I hate him. He's a character that seemes to be another failed genesis of a "baddass". Mainly because he has no deeper purpose. He does only what others tell him. He's a puppet on a string. He whines about this and that, but he doens't think, he only reacts. For instace when he found out that Itachi died for the sake of Konoha, he decided he wanted to destroy Konoha (despite the fact that it had already been destroyed), to avenge his brother. Well all Itachi did was to save Konoha, so if Sasuke had any sort of sympathy for his brother, he would understand him and he would fight for Konoha's sake just like Itachi. But he doesn't. He's like the Hulk. SASUKE CRUSHES!! He's a mindless puppet that tries to act all lone ranger and fails miserably. What are you afraid of Sasuke-chan?

I don't hate Sasuke, but that's because the day I start loathing a character is the day I know that I've read too much manga. However, I do dislike him for all the reasons mentioned above. Kishimoto definitely has a boner for him and for that he's become much too Gary-suish.

I also dislike characters who are constantly the centre of attention, he has way too many fangirls/fanboys considering how many people he's hurt.

Hate is a strong word. I don't hate Sasuke, I dislike him. I dislike him because Naruto and the Hidden Leaf tried to help him, Kakashi even taught him the Chidori, but he left the village for one single man when he had all his friends and Konoha. In my eyes, Sasuke is a power hungry, arrogant young man who betrayed Konoha, disgraced Itachi's sacrifice, blames everything on Itachi, and pushed away Naruto who cares about him so much, for Orochimaru and his little b**** boy, Kabuto. Sasuke is a rogue ninja who blames everything on everyone else besides himself.

Sasuke seriously needs a therapist. xD
