Why Do People Hate Sakura or Hinata Only Because of Pairings?

Hey, guys. This is kind of something that bothers me. Some people who are NaruSaku fans hate Hinata solely because she loves Naruto, and some NaruHina fans hate Sakura solely because they believe that she might love Naruto. I don't mean to be rude, but I don't really think that's a fair reason. If you just don't like their personality, that's one thing, but disliking them due to whether they posing a threat to your favorite pairing is another. The story is about Naruto, not the pairings, and yet, some people hate characters' guts for that reason.

On the poll, please vote for one of the nine options. While you don't need to explain why you like the Naruto pairing that you do (there are other polls that exist for that), I would like to know why you do or don't like Sakura and/or Hinata. Please tell me your reason; DON'T just say, "Just because I do". That is not a reason. I hope that this poll and the replies on this thread will cause people to think: do you really have a genuine reason to dislike Sakura or Hinata, or is it just because they pose a threat to your preferred pairing? I respect your opinion, whatever it is, but I guess I'd just like to know the reasons why people don't like Hinata or Sakura; it would make me feel better to see that people actually have a good reason to dislike these characters. I'm the type who believes that people should have a good reason to dislike someone, and I like peace; being able to understand WHY someone feels the way they do is just as important as knowing their opinion (probably more important, in fact). Many people argue about this subject, so I hope this will allow us to better understand each other. If we are able to understnad each other's opinions clearly (even if we don't agree with them), we will, hopefully, be able to understnd each other We can discuss our reasons for liking/not liking them, but NO SCREAMING/INSULT MATCHES ALLOWED!!!!!!!! Be nice, please!

Here, I'll start. I support NaruHina, but I still greatly like Sakura. She is on the side of the good, which right there gives her favor for me. But even more importatnly, she plays a very important role in the story as a form of support to Naruto. She has a kind heart, is a good person, and has good motives: she wants to be able to protect her friends, and be there for them. I greatly respect her for that. She and I are also alike in many ways in our personalities; it is always easier to like someone to whom you relate.

Eh....I like both of them and I'm a NaruHina fan. But IMO, that's such a stupid reason to hate a character. Couples aren't even big roles in Shounen manga, so I wouldn't hate a character over them.

I love NaruHina and I also greatly like Sakura. I like both of their personalities. I dont believe its a good reason to dislike someone because they pose a threat to a preferred pairing, and even so, some people say they should be alone as well since they like this pairing and since that person poses a threat they think they should stay alone.
While I believe Sakura could find love somewhere esle.

I don't know why. Some people just take the couples so seriously, that any characters that pose a major threat to that couple, they automatically hate.

They are aware that these are all just anime/manga characters rights? I love NaruSaku, but I don't think I dislike any character, seems like too much effort. :mrgreen:

These are the most common and overused reasons:

'That ***** Sakura keeps Naruto from noticing Hinata!!!' Because apparently it's not his own choice or Hinata's fault.
or,

They should just die!!!!11one' Even though Naruto's obviously straight and it's his choice, or he's not actually straight and might be gay and they're not in his way.


I like both NaruSaku and NaruHina, though NaruSaku more. But I like Hinata more than Sakura, but Hinata's fanbase is starting to ruin it for me.

Most of Hinata's 'true fans' make her out to be what she's not: A helpless, dependent little girl who MUST HAVE Naruto AT ALL COSTS or else she'll kill anyone who stands in her way or will even kill herself if she can't have him. They don't realize that Hinata is NOT that and she wants NARUTO to be happy no matter what, even if it's not with her and she's not happy. Sakura also wants that, for Naruto to be happy if not with her or if she's not happy. However, Hinata's haters also make her this way, except also stupid and incredibly weak. But I find it's worse in her pro-fanbase. Ironic and hypocritical, huh?

Sakura, her haters make her as even MORE useless than her Part 1 counterpart, and act like she's a backstabbing, incredibly stupid w**** who only wants what she wants and nothing else, and that she's only saying she likes Naruto because he's suddenly a hero and he's the rebound guy, instead of it being realization that he's already been there for her and he truly loves her. I haven't seen too much of her pro-fanbase, but most are Hinata haters who use the reasons above to hate Hinata, instead of using facts and common sense. There are also some 'true' fans who think they know her like she's their own OC when they actually just make her look bad, such as being willing to kill anyone who wants to steal Sasuke, like how she used to be 3 years ago, instead of her being mature and not that way.

Hell, even Naruto's fans are major contributors. Most claim they want Naruto to be happy, but then hate Sakura, who he loves, and pair him with Hinata, who he might like, but at this point it's currently just known that he loves Sakura so that might make him unhappy. They also pair Sakura with Sasuke just so Naruto can be with Hinata, even though that would break his heart. But, I guess I do see why, because Naruto is willing to put everyone else's happiness above his. He's already been willing to give Sakura up to Sasuke, and now that he knows Hinata's feelings he'd try to make her happy. But, that still doesn't mean he would be happy.

But, with these, other things would surface; Hinata would realize that Naruto isn't happy with her and would try to get him and Sakura together so he can be happy, which would make Sasuke mad if they were together and he liked Sakura. But then if Naruto was with Sakura and she wanted Sasuke, he'd try to get them together. So who truly wins? No one, except for maybe Sasuke, but only if he likes Sakura back. But then again, if Sasuke or Naruto like each other, and they're with someone else, then they're unhappy, and then nobody wins. And, if Hinata, Sakura, and Sasuke are taken, then Lee, Karin, and Kiba are left unhappy, because the people they like are already with somebody else. Best reason why shipping shouldn't occur, because nobody can achieve true happiness because they can't be with the one they love. And this doesn't just apply to Sasu/Saku/Naru/Hina/Kiba/Karin/Lee either, it applies for everyone

I don't like Hinata, but it has nothing to do with me loving NaruSaku.

I think she's weak and somewhat useless, hardly cut out to be a ninja as she always needs saving in battle and she allowed Neji's bad attitude and jealousy get to her. I didn't like that she had to rely on Naruto for her strength when she finally found it, where other ninjas found their own strength, like Lee or Sakura. I think her fainting and blushing all the time is downright annoying, and that she should get herself together if she plans on potentially having a future with Naruto. She aggrivates me more than any other character with the exception of Sasuke.

I support NaruHina and I love both Hinata and Sakura. They're my two favourite young kunoichis in the Naruto series. I can relate to the two of them in different ways and I always look forward to seeing them in action in the manga; 437 being one of my faves for Hinata showing how brave and beautiful she really is and the same for Sakura in the chapters she fought Sasori.

The reason I dont hate either of them because of pairings is probably because in a way I'm strong, feisty and hot-headed, and in other ways I'm shy, quiet and weak. I think both of them are strong though. The main reason people are always putting hinata down about her weaknesses is because we haven't seen much of her strengths yet. The main reason peopl put Sakura down is because of her Sasuke "Obsession" Which btw, isnt an obsession anymore. Yes, In part 1, I was one of the people who thought it was annoying. But its turned into more of a bond, a love. and whoever thinks SHES obsessed, needs to get a waayy better look at Karin.

But Sakura's a good character, in and of herself; what annoys me about NaruSaku is that Naruto 'liked' Sakura because she was pretty, or something like that, and Sakura regularly abused him, called him stupid multiple times, etc. Meanwhile, Hinata loved Naruto before anyone else, was kind to him, and even risked her life to confess her love. I identify most with Hinata, though, so I'm biased.

But with this in mind, maybe this is the type of girl that naruto needs because the two people that have always pushed naruto to do his best have always been sasuke and sakura. if they were to hook up, wouldn't he maybe try too hard to impress her and/or not know what to do with his training? i personally think that naruhina will happen either soon or maybe a couple a chapters from now. but i dont hate sakura for the fact that she is one of those people that helped naruto become who he is.;)

I used to be that way, but fortunately, I realized how stupid I was being. I'm a proud NaruSaku supporter, but also a proud Hinata lover. I don't see the point in hating a character anymore.
