Who is he? Is he trustable? Whats his connection to ANBU? What do the ANBU do?

If Itachi was the good guy, who was a spy, how come Konoha never knew any of the information on the Akatsuki?

Who's Madara? Was he part of Konoha, if not, why did he help Itachi kill the clan?

Anyway...I can answer some of them, if you want me to. But they're spoilers.

Danzo is the leader of the ROOT organization, and probably one of the most powerful leaders with some of the greatest connections in Konoha. Is he trustable? Heck no. I really, really dislike him. Though, I guess that's up for you to decide. His connection to ANBU? Well, he's in charge of ROOT, who has ANBU-ranked members who work for Konoha.

Danzo is a tricky, sneaky little guy. Little can get past him. He's very manipulative, as well.

The reason why Konoha never knew any of information on Akatsuki is because there is only a select few who know about Itachi: Danzo, the third Hokage, and those two council members whose names I can't remember. And obviously, they're not going to say anything, because that would put them in a bad light. And, well...the third Hokage respected Itachi's wishes, and simply didn't say anything.

Madara Uchiha is the founder of the Uchiha clan, and helped to establish Konoha, in some ways or another. Yes, he was part of Konoha. The reason why he helped Itachi kill the Uchiha clan is out of vengeance. He felt as though he got betrayed by his own clan when they wanted to side with the Senju clan, and that they, ultimately, ganged up on him. He felt betrayed. And he grew to hate it. And so, he wanted to revenge. And the current situation in Itachi was his best chance to wreak havoc. And so, Itachi used the situation to his advantage, as well, and had Madara help him.

That's basically the jest of it, really.

but does anybody know wut the anbu do? i mean konoha already has ninja that go on missions and do stuff for the village, so wuts the point of anbu?
