hey guys, this is my first post, so please note out any mistakes or such
i thought this was the appropriate place to put it.
sooo
Whats with the Naruto world Technologically?

i mean, its like they try to combine technology from the present, and from like 300 years ago.

In one aspect they have modern day technology like movie cameras, trains, medical facilities, advanced war machines, etc
But they also use like horse drawn carriages, they dont have guns, etc.

And how come some villages completely technologically outclass others?
for example the Village Hidden in the Rain seems to be 300 years ahead of everyone else.

i dont know its just always bothered me :?:

Thats the way Japan really is. Tokyo is modern but there are still small villages that have yet to grow. The Naruto world is like a reflection of past and present day Japan.

i suppose, but it just seems like some of their technology is sooo ahead of others
like the Akatsuki use holohrams and yet people dont have many means of transportation apart from; walking and animals

Their ability to use holograms is a ninja technique...Its was used to make them seem powerful. Many of the Akatsuki Skills are above what most ninjas can do. And about the transportation your right Horses and walking are the main way to travel, but maybe masashi doesnt know if he wants naruto in a modern japan or past one..

and i suppose it would be pointless to have cars because ninjas can just travel at like 100x the speed that cars can, but of course not everyone in Naruto is a ninja so maybe it would be useful to have other means of transportation

In the naruto world many people dont travel unless there a ninja or there home was destroyed..

yeah i suppose your right, and for some reason all of the nations dont seem that large to me, so maybe they dont need to travel very far anyways...

it would also take away from the story. i mean, which would you rather have:

a battle between two ninja, and one pulls out a gun and BLAM the other ninja's dead.

OR....

a battle where one ninja is fighting using a sword, while the other is using his jutsu, and you learn a little about one character, then about the other, then a story arc is born.

and on an even BIGGER scale:
take the oro vs. leaf village in part one. if oro had, oh, let's say, a NUKE, then the whole story line would have probably ended then and there. but then where would we be?

i dont mean weapons wise, it just seems like some villages are soo far ahead of others that they are in seperate timezones

ooooo, ok. yeah, that DOES get a little confusing.

but then again, we got to look at real life, too.

imagine each of the villages being a country (they pretty much are, but just play along)

some of them are going to be like japan and america and china, and have uber tech. , and others are probably going to be like developing countries.

Kishimoto said its a world in his head, he doesn't want high technology. I don't think its suppose to be three hundred years ago, its just another world where they have no need for Cars or Guns, they have Jutsu and feet; which some people should use once and a while (The feet part) >.< >.> It would suck butt if all they used were guns and cars I wouldn't be as attracted to this show, and this is the only Manga (I read) and Anime (I watch)

to me, the Rain doesn't seem that much more advanced, all it has is plumbing, a lot of plumbing (refering to the pipes). besides, the movie cameras and trains and stuff r all just in the movies, nothing in the manga or even the (non-movie) anime

Yeah, it is kinda weird, but who cares? It's still an awesome series. And for the reason that the Village Hidden in the Rain is "300 years ahead" is because they might have better tech and inventors and stuff. They're just farther ahead than some villages. And I wouldn't say that the Village Hidden in the Rain is like 300 years ahead...

Obviously some people haven't been paying attention in Social Studies. Just kidding. But really, some towns in Japan are industrial but alot and I mean A LOT of them are primitive. I've been to Japan I would know. Rain village isn't even sophisticated. They just have lots of pipes.
