Anyways back on topic, Kin almost gave me the impression that she didn't carry her own weight and dragged down her squad. She was easily taken out by a exhausted Shikamaru. Yashamaru has great speed, although not entirely shown.

Bump. I think that Yashamaru should be able to win. They're both fodder with little or no skills at all, so they're nearly the same power level. But Yashamaru's manipulating attack blades are much harder to dodge than Kin's needles, just because of their sheer size and his ability to throw so many at once. Kin, for the life of her, couldn't even dodge Ino's Mind Transfer. Yashamaru should be able to take this.

True but later when she fought Shikamaru in the preliminaries she easily dodged his Shadow Possesion. Considering Yashamaru only has one Jutsu, which isnt really fast or powerful. I think Kin should be able to throw one of her Bell Needles at Yashamaru before he uses his Jutsu. Which -even if he dodges; will still be able to paralyze him ,allowing Kin to take him out with her Needles.

At the point in the manga, it didn't take much to dodge it. Dosu was only caught because he had been too distracted by Choji's Human Boulder. The needles have no paralyzing qualities, Haku used the same type of needle on Naruto and Sasuke, and they could still move just fine. Neither of them even died from it. Yashamaru's kunai could easily block and counter the needles, and ultimately deal more damage than Kin's needles could.
