IIRC, she could keep up with sonic. In Sonic Hero's, she was the sonic of that team.

It's safe to say Amy'd win in a race, but I don't see how all that running speed would let her beat out Tsunade.

And does Tsunade's being in command of all of the Konoha ninjas play into this? She could just order a hit on Amy in absence of everything else and it'd be over :lol:.

TV, comics and movies are non-canon that's like using Naruto fillers, the games are the only things that matter.

Though using the games as canon for the series is the default assumption, that gets really difficult with a non-fighting game series like Sonic. In the games, if you were to just look at what the characters can and can't do there, then Amy can only jump on people's heads and hit them with a hammer, along with run really fast. If you were to combine that kinda thing, you'd think it'd be powerful, but in the games you as a player are never really allowed to do that, so using them as pure canon, it's not something Amy Rose can do.

I think using the Sonic series in fights in general's pretty difficult, cause every other game they just through another franchise's moves and skills into the mix, alot of times completely ignoring it, if not negating it, in later games.

What do you guys think of just using the Sonic fighting games as canon for the Sonic character fighting abilities?

To put it another way-

Sonic as a series is largely a satire and parody of alot of other series', so it can be hard to pin down the abilities of the characters, cause they change so often in ways that aren't always consistent. Like in the original Sonic, he just ran and jumped on stuff. That was Sonic the Hedgehog in his lovable entirety.

Then they decided to make it a parody of Dragon Ball in the sequels, and all of a sudden he could go Super Saiyan when he found the 7 Chaos Emeralds. Super Saiyan in the Sonic universe was pretty limited, however, and for the most part just meant he looked gold, could float rather than run (but not fly), and was invulnerable to minor attacks (though not falling in a hole or anything). Then in the further sequels, Super Saiyan Sonic could indeed fly, and even breath in space, as well as turn into a ball of light and energy that could act like a living Kamehameha with Sonic inside of it. Then he started being able to bend time and space with the emeralds, do homing attacks in mid air whenever he felt like it, found rings that let him light himself on fire, etc.

My main point is that it's really hard to pin down 'canon' abilities of Sonic characters when their abilities are always 'what would be cool this time' from game to game. That's not even touching on the fact that their 'life' is tied to having all the rings or none of the rings, which people tend to completely ignore when talking about 'fights' with characters from other series' cause that's a hella out there concept, even in videogames :lol:.

Amy isn't that fast. She's actually one of the slower Sonic clones around. She's supposed to be the damsel in distress. I mean Sonic saves her and yadda yadda. The only thing she has going for her is her hammer and even then it's not that strong. So I say Tsunade wins.

The funny thing about speed is it sometimes doesn't mean squat. Take Sonic himself for example. In some of the games he is outrun by EGGMAN of all people. Granted it's only the last level and it's a game mechanic so Eggman can get into his BFM final weapon but still....

True. One thing to keep in mind in a fight, however, is that the Sonic characters are fast over very, VERY long distances.

One on one fights are largely up close between characters without a whole lot of projectile action. Sonic characters aren't very quick when stopping or having to turn around either :lol:.

Can't she destroy robots with her hammer? I doubt Tsunade can tank a hit like that, plus Amy is at least supersonic, I mean she was able to somewhat keep up with Sonic, but still falls short.
