Even though Asuma has better taijutsu, wind element of his own, and fire, Temari's powerful fan based wind attacks would likely slice through Asuma's Fire, and if needed Temari could summon Kamitari, which, unless Asuma can do that Godly Hand jutsu (is that even canon?), He would get sliced to bits.

I should have been more specific. While fire is Asuma's best chance of winning this fight, and might give him a slight advantage, Temari is an exceptional user of the wind style, and just like an exceptional fire attack will evaproate water, an exceptional, slicing wind attack would probably go right through Asuma's fire (this is still just an assuption). Either way, Asuma still would not be able to counter Kamitari.

Amida's 1000-Arm Death Embrace isn't canon, so that's something Asuma doesn't have on his side. However, Temari needs some prep to summon Kamatari, the only reason she summoned it before Tayuya could attack was because she spent so much time trying to get to a long range.

hmmm not sure,Im not sure how this match would end,ill say Asuma for the simple fact that hes Jonin and has been one for years,he was also entrusted with his own team while Temari wasnt.Im assuming hes stronger than her though,I mean hes had a lot more battle experience.Still though im realy not sure :S

I'm going to say Asuma wins, though with doubts.

Asuma's speed feats and stats proves him able to attack Temari without having many Wind Jutsus sent at him. Even if it was long range, Asuma might be able to reach her in time before she can prep something big, or get out of the Wind's range. In close range, I doubt Temari can keep blocking his attacks with her fan, for one Asuma has superior speed and his attacks have shown to be pretty fast. Asuma was able to slice Kisame's face, so I don't think Temari has shown enough to dodge every attack.

But if Temari summons, Asuma's in trouble. Except depending on the range, Asuma might be able to make it in time before Temari summons it.

Asuma has a 4.5 in speed, you assume that Temari can just get away from him but she can't. Also, one slash and her fan is broken.

The only jutsu she has that could kill him is Summoning Quick Beheading Dance, and even then, if it's in a plain then it doesn't matter because nothing can fall on Asuma. But even then he could probably slice the trees falling on him anyway.

Asuma wins he can uses his chakra blades to cut through the fans like he cut Kisame's face.

If the fan is messed up then Temari would have to likely use taijutsu in close combat and that is where Asuma would benefit.

I would go with Asuma simply because of his fire style. If Temari summons right away, Asuma would probably have to use fire style. Where the battle took place and the range would also affect the outcome.
