I'd be in denial too if the person I loved just told me they loved me back when you've known they had been in love with someone else for a long time. Though, I kind of do agree that Sakura was lying when she said she didn't love Sasuke anymore.

Well, it's kind of hard to tell if she was lying about her feelings. Most likely she just said that so Naruto would stop going after Sasuke, knowing he'd freak out if she told him that they're planning on killing him. Naruto's not an idiot anymore, so I know he just wouldn't say "well, alright Sakura, you love me, I love you, let's be happy!" he knew she was lying, so why would he take advantage of something that's not true?

But she was lying to herself. She wanted to do that so she could make it easier for Naruto to come to the point of accepting that they had to kill Sasuke.

Yeah, to be honest, I was actually looking forward to the Kisame/Killerbee fight, but instead I got this. I'm not necesarrily disappointed, the chapter was actually pretty interesting, but this whole Die for Our ship backlash that each couple is receiving is somewhat disheartening.
(Although I'm not gonna lie, the drama makes it kind of interesting too ;))

^Well, part of why Killer Bee vs. Kisame is getting a backseat is because this kinda determines what Naruto and Sakura are going to do about Sasuke, so it does indeed have more weight on where the plot is headed. (And I say this as a person who has been looking forward to Killer Bee vs. Kisame, mostly because of the lack of plot shield on both sides! (and of course because Killer Bee is a hoot, lol))

I hate to admit it, but those looks on the others faces seemed to be completly mad at sakura's words, I think they thought she was lying too! After so long of loving Sasuke, it does seem unbelivable. Besides, her confession also contain statement to let go of Sasuke, thats the falling point of the confession. To go along with her confession and throwing Sasuke aside is a selfish standpoint, something that as far as I can see it, Naruto is anything but.
If anything his rejection shows a sign of maturity by refusing to commit into an insincere relationship which potentially hurts both Himself AND Sakura.

Exactly. She didn't convince anyone with that bogus confession she made. Everyone there could see it was a load of bull. Naruto did the right thing because she was LYING to him. Even if Naruto accepted her confession what good would that make? It would all be a lie. She was just trying to use Naruto because she thinks Sasuke is too far gone. So, I guess she still has feelings for Sasuke afterall.
Lol the faces everyone made were hilarious though, they all looked disgusted. You can see Lee facepalming himself in one panel too.

I didn't say that. I think Sakura's reason to make that statement was far more selfless than that. She told Naruto to give up on Sasuke because she don't want him to bet hurt anymore than he already is, in another word: She said it for NARUTO's sake, not herself (though I also think she's trying to convince herself at the same time). If anything, between the two, Naruto is the one not willing to let go of Sasuke. Wether or not Sakura still possess feelings for Sasuke is up for debate, though I'm more leaning to yes. The question is: How deep does that feeling go? The answer is NOT something that we can answer clearly so far.

I think it's really obvious that Sakura is not being very sincere, since she gives all these strange reasons about 'being reasonable' and that Sasuke is 'moving away' being why she loves Naruto now. I think her main concern is just trying to make sure Naruto doesn't try to kill himself fufulling his promise because she doesn't want that on her consience, but I think she still loves Sasuke, as odd as it may be.

The thing is about writing is that you want an audience to come back to read/watch what you wrote so of course he is going to say something like that because it's to hook the reader into seeing what happens next. That kind of writing is a very overused cliche. If you watch any show or read any book with that kind of love interest between two characters it will happen, there is usually always something that keeps them seperated, which is what we have here. Sooo there is not going to be any love interests until the manga is basically over which it is isn't yet as we can plainly see.

First of all, when I was 12, I didn't like boys. And when I did like boys, I never liked the popular guys that everyone likes. I liked the quiet sweet guys that didn't talk to people much. I was a lot more mature for my age, so I find it weird that I'm being told to grow up by someone who is probably younger than me. And were not talking about 12 year olds here, were talking about 16 year olds. Sakura is the one who has some growing up to do.
Last time I checked, Lee's feelings towards Sakura never changed. And did you see his face when she confessed to Naruto? He looked like he was going to cry! And I think what Tenten meant when she said "Not again..." was something about not going on about Sakura again. Tenten was probably sick of hearing about his love for Sakura.

Who are you? Kishimoto? Until now, wether or not Sakura was lying was still a big question mark, nothing is set in the stone yet.

For once, I agree with C-C to a degree. while I won't call Sakura's confession was a lie, we just don't know her true feeling yet. Its simply not explained yet.
while its true that finding your true love at 16, its not impossible, C-C. I've heard some cases where they claim that they started dating since middle school and getting married right out of college.
