i like dubs better becaus i dont speak japanese and hate having to glance at the subs and miss some of the action. but most of the time in dubs they edit a lot of stuff out
so lets compromise, dubs without editing things out (uncut dub)

Anyways, personally, I'd say subbed. They're just way more original.

Defo subs... That is how I've started watching it and when I heard the dubbed version it made me sick. Maybe it's because when I got used to the japanese voices the english dub felt weird but imo the subs are much better. It's more genuine that way and you feel the tension between the characters much better.

I enjoy dubbed, because its easier to understand, and you can focus on the animation itself, instead of the liiittle printed words down at the bottom of the screen. However, I think I like the subbed just a bit more, because when the producers translate the episodes into english, they have to make changes to fit the characters' sentences in with the movement of their mouths. So, sometimes they cut some words out, or replace words. If you watch the subbed, then it's like viewing the original, without any changes. (excluding manga to anime changes. Those are necessary! :D )

Sub is the worst because the dub is japanese, and it's sometimes hard to see the subtitles when you're far away.
Dub is okay because we can understand what Naruto or any other charcters are saying.

I prefer Subs, so I don't have to hear 'Believe it!' ('Dattebayo/-ttebayo!' was better and much more original), plus some of the voices and changed dialouge. Though, I will admit Viz did good on Tenten's voice, cause her Japanese voice is too high pitched.

Subs, depending upon the episode

If it were part 1 then it would most defiantly be Dubs, unless I don't want to hear "BELIEVE IT" twenty million times. I pefer Dattebayo.

Part 2 Subs, Dubs cut waaaaay to much out in my opinion.

Subbed for both Original Naruto and Shippuden. I mean, dubbed for the original has a more nostalgic factor because the first time I saw Naruto, I was 11 and it was on Toonami. I watched almost the whole first series in dub until I found out it was originally in Japanese. Then I watched subs on the computer since then. In dubbed the violence and language are censored, Naruto screams "Believe it!" which is a terrible translation of his catchphrase "Dattebayo!", also "Believe it!" is just annoying because it stands out as it's own sentence whereas "Dattebayo" is connected to his sentences. Also American Voice Actors don't express their emotions as well as the Japanese Voice Actors. In Japan, its for teenagers and people in their early 20's. In America it's for kids 12 and under. If I wanted to see a kids show, i'd watch 4kids.

I enjoy Dubbed Naruto (this goes for about all anime that I've watched) more. I just like the experience better from not having to read along. As well as at times there's characters like in Naruto Killer Bee where they have a clever way of speaking as is his rap. But when listening to it in Japanese it just doesn't have the same sound as it would if I could understand just by sound.

The only thing I have to say about long series that are dubbed though. Is often times I watch and get really into the show where I can't wait for the next episode and then I look and 100+ more episodes are available if I choose to watch them subbed. It's hard to resist waiting about two years for the dub to catch up at 1 ep per week when I could just enjoy in like a marathon manner.

But if it was choosing between a Sub and an Uncut Dub for a full show. I choose the dub everytime.

I like both the Japanese and English versions equally. Both have their ups and downs, but in general I don't see anything wrong with either. For example, if i'm playing one of the video games that feature both Japanese and English voices, I generally switch between both languages every so often. Or in the case of the anime, I watch the Japanese version first (because it comes out first...), then the dub. And if I ever want to watch an older episode, I just watch it in the language i'm in the mood for.

Dubs. I basically grew up watching Naruto in English, so I've gotten way more used to the voices. The subs are alright, and I like the Japanese voices, but some of them just...irritate me to no end, so I either read the manga or wait for the DVDs to come out.

Don't get me wrong, I like both. But the subs are just strange to hear, so I mostly lean toward the dubs or manga (since I don't have to hear about which is better: they're silent!).

I personally like them both. I like the subbed versions more but I love hearing Debi Mae West, Megan Hollingshead and Crispin Freeman voice Tsunade, Shizune and Itachi. I tend to watch most dubs if voice actors I like are in them. But I am kind of disappointed that the keywords parts aren't included as an extra on the DVDs with either subs or the dubbed versions as some of them are quite funny.

dubbed i honestly dont understand why some people are always complaining about the edits in the dubs when they do have UNCUT dvds and episodes out..... its just disney xd that edits out all the blood and stuff.... plus dubbed voices are much better (Sasuke, Itatchi, Kakashi, Guy, Lee, Gamatatsu, Gamakichi.... i dont even know why im listing the characters cause the list will just go on of the dub voices that and better than the subs....) imo and plus you can feel what the character is saying better when you hear them in your own language reading subs doesnt really give me that feel.... its kind of just like im reading the manga with moving pictures :/
