I love me some fanfics because it is fun imagining the characters from your side of the story, you get what I am saying?

It depends how well they are written.
There are some shockingly bad fanfics around, some of them so un-realistic they make me want to puke. However, some are works of greatness, and people have obviously spent a lot of time working on them, getting the story and language just right. These are great to read. The other type... not so much.
I remember one fanfic from a few years back that actually convinced me that Luffy x Vivi was a viable possibility.

I don't particularly like them, I think most fanfics are bad. ...I'll admit, though, sometimes I look up bad ones to read and laugh at...it's a guilty pleasure of mine...But I do occasionally look for good ones...that's what I do when I look under the Fanart/Fanfiction section of the forums. ...Or are those more of stories?

Well, I write and read fanfictions. I've tried a bunch from a lot of manga series, but I mainly like to stick with ones with Kakashi... Ones that don't have an OC romance or an OC at all. lol

I read and write them, so yes, I like them. However, there are some horribly written ones, and those I try to avoid. I mostly find myself reading M rated one-shots. xD

Depends.
What I'm usually looking in a good story is a decent plot, in-depth characters with backstories, story twists, emotional moments, a sense of grammar, good capitalization, and words that are actually six letters or more.

I love the WELL WRITTEN fanfics. How anyone can read the once written my little brats with first grade English skills is beyond me. If they don't know to capitolize names, how to use punctuation, spell, semi-proof read, what a sentence is, or they create humongous blocks of writing, I can't read them and wish I could delete them on principal.
The best ones are well written, realistic, detailed and with an amazing plot are the best to read. I can even stand OCs if they are extremely well written OCs.
