I don't think he was. If he were, he probably would've made an effort like the stubborn person he is. His immortality wears off, so he would've eventually succeeded. But he didn't kill himself, because his religion states that he has to kill every day (or so I think). He was probably replenishing his immortality so often that he never knew it could wear off.

You can't assume his immortality wears off, I don't think it was ever stated that his immortality could wear off, when he stabbed himself, it was just a form of praying.

Actually, it was stated in the third databook, written by MK himself. His immortality does wear off.

by the way, its a hypothetical question. i didnt say he was, its just a situation i made up.
