Really naruto is a(partly) survivor. In the U.S. if a anime isnt popular within a few episodes,they cancel it.I say the only reason naruto got cancelled in the U.S. was cuz the fans got tired of the never-ending stream of fillers b4 shippuden.If u ask meh........

When searching for anime, one must NEVER forget these 2, or ... well, I guess they could be considered 5.
The first one is Vandread, it'll teach you all about misogyny, and it's good for every other reason as well. That one has two ... seasons, but the second one has an extra name.
The second unforgettable is titled Ikki Tousen. That "series" is currently comprised of three parts, and is made up of a decent percentage of awesome, unlike Naruto.
Other series which beg everyone's attention: Jigoku Shojo (Hell Girl), Grenadier, Yu Yu Hakusho, Tsukuyomi, Darker Than Black, Tsukihime, Air, MAR,
More things: Code Geass sucks, except for the music, meaning background and themes; Death Note was good, but then became bad, because everyone insists that it keeps on going after it ended, at least with the manga, I thought the anime was always kinda trippy; Kaze No Stigma and Witchblade are definitely worth watching,

these are 2 Anime that IMHO are like the most elite of the epic stories ever told
each series has a moive with X it details the climax of the series and the ninja scroll moive just spins a set up tail of sorts that has some small ties to the series but nothing major.

Thank you for adding Inu Yasha to the list! Before I 'met' Kakashi, my favorite character was Lord Sesshomaru. I still love him, but none are better than Kakashi (to me, at least). Thanks.

- Clannad - it's so super sweet, it'll make you cry. Seriously.

- Solty Rei - love the opening, the animation, the everything.

- Scrapped Princess - surprisingly unknown, even though everything is top-notch.

- Azumanga Daoih - a show about nothing =D No, but seriously, it's garaunteed a few laughs.

- Kuroshitsuji - I know its not dubbed, but that's easily overlooked. Oh, and Grell. Watch for him, chainsaw 'n all.

- Vampire Princess Miyu - I love this series with a passion <3 It's really good, and I love the ending.

- Samurai Champloo - what happens when the hard-heart, the intelligent, and the ditz meet on a full fledged adventure of epic-tastic proportions? This is the answer.
