he should be higher than a genin, yes, but that is part of the show, just like part of home improvement is not showing wilsons chin, or part of that 70's show is not knowing what country fez is from, we all know that narutos power level is already higher than any kage when hes in sage mode

oh my word yes. he could do the chunin exams without breaken a sweat now. well...maybe not the writen part of it, but he'd deffinetly make it throught the forest of death and the dualing sections. can one still do the chunin exams without a group though?

I think Naruto is going to stay genin, just cause Kishi wants to be like that and show how Naruto is still a genin and yet becomes Hokage. Also I don't think they will ever make him any higher. He just won't even care to become higher ranked cause remember he says during the first chunin test he doesn't care if he's a genin forever, he'll still be hokage one day

Rank means nothing, he's stronger then everyone in the leaf village. He could defeat anyone pretty much, including Kakashi.
