There are rumors that Zac Efron is gonna play as Light Yagami in the live action Death Note in 2010.I hope this is not true.

I once saw Zac Efron in a tan colored suit, and he looked dead on like Light Yagami. Personally, I think it would be okay is he played Light. He would give him a chance to break away from all the Disney stuff he is/was involved in. Then maybe he could become a half way decent actor. ^^
Zac kinda does look like Light a little bit.

I actually think that he would make a great Light Yagami. I hate the High School Musical movies, but Light is like Zac Efron's anime twin, it's creepy! And Zac is a pretty good actor. 17 Again was really good. So I might be one of the only people for Zac playing Light in the Death Note movie. xD

I fully agree. I've never seen any of the HSM films but if he did a decent job in the live-action version of DN, I'm pretty sure more people would cut him some slack.

They'd find someone to play each of them. Someone said Ashley Tisdale as Misa, but I think one Disney star in the Death Note movie is enough. xD

As long as the Death Note Movie isn't in ANY WAY associated with, dare I say it, Disney...it should be fine.

Don't worry about that. Death Note is about a serial killer who kills people using a notebook. Disney would have none of that. Little kids would go around making there own Death Notes and writing down names of people they hate. xD

Actually Zac Efron is a fan of Death Note. The whole American live action take on Death Note as of now is still only speculation. It's only been talked about. Despite him being a Disney Channel star or whatnot I actually really hope Zac plays Light when it comes down to it. I'm not exactly a fan of some of his previous works however he IS a good actor and he does look a LOT like Light. Plus he has a huge fan base. People would come watch it just to see him and perhaps realize that anime is really cool and if Zac Efron likes it well then dammit it must be alright. I see it as a potentially very good thing. I think the only reason people wouldn't want Zac to play Light is because of the dead set stereo typing basketball playing jock everyone thinks he is. I'd give him a chance... just sayin.
