Sasori-senpai. I wouldn't say it is quite as easy as many people make it sound, but Sasori would still win in the end. Not only is he stronger, but he's had more experience.

However, it wouldn't be as simple as

How would Deidara win? Sasori can use heart transfer to escape the bombs, Iron Sand can block against the bombs, and Sasori's 100 Puppets technique would be a problem for Dei. Plus, one scratch and Dei loses.

Yes, and Sasori's just going to stand there and let Deidara do that. The bombs can be blocked by Iron Sand.

I hate you! I was gonna make this thread a little while ago! Dangit! Oh well, back to the point.

I like Deidara and all, and I'm not trying to overrate Sasori, but he would terminate Deidara.

Sasori has his Hiruko puppet, which would take awhile to get him out of, and yet he can attack with that. It has poison on it as well, and if it hits Deidara, it's over.

Sasori is actually a very powerful akatsuki member. It's a shame he died so soon, but Sakura and Chiyo just got lucky. If they hadn't have had an antidote, they would have been done for awhile before.

Chiyo also knew Sasori's attacks. If she hadn't have known that, that would have given Sasori a bigger advantage.

Back to Deidara vs Sasori.

Once (if) Sasori get's out of Hiruko, he has iron sand, which is extremely fast (said to have reached sonic boom), it is poisonous, and very powerful.

Don't forget, he has a 100 puppet jutsu. Sasori has an army, and can control them all. Deidara can't stand up to that. He'd have to be too focused on one or the other or a few puppets at a time, which Sasori can attack from there.

He also can take off his cloak, and he has his scrolls as himself. He could blow Deidara away very easily with those as well.

This proves Sasori would win.

Chiyo got lucky because she could seal his heart transfer, etc. Deidara can't do that. If he even launched a c4 (which takes time to prepare), Sasori can instantly heart transfer (so fast Chiyo and Sakura didn't realize what happened).

I'm giving Sasori all the pointers, so I can also help Deidara out.

Deidara is really not a match for Sasori, but I can list a few attacks of his.

Deidara can fly, which can really help him dodge a few attacks.

He has hands that can make clay bombs. He can detonate them at will. He can create a whole bunch of little creatures (like spiders, birds, etc.), and spam Sasori with them.

Deidara also has some more powerful bombs. All of his bombs are listed c1-c4. His strongest bomb is c4, which does take some time to prepare, but when prepared, it makes one hell of an explosion (but from what I said about Sasori, he wouldn't get hurt by it).
