The rules for this forum state that we can debate anything we want that is not Naruto related here. I believe this section was for worthwhile debates so as to not be buried under the piles of random posts that abound in the Off-Topics section. But under the guidelines already stated, I could come here and debate about absoultly nothing and still see an incease in my post count.

But then I would simply report it if this forum is misused. End of topic.

If you notice, posts don't count and haven't been since the first few people posted in the forum. I wasn't expecting the actual forum itself to be so controversial.

Why the posts SHOULD count here:

This was formed on the idea of intelligent, in-depth posts. Of conveying one's thoughts and opinions with passion and logic. This was formed on the idea of debate, obviously. If this thing even halfway lives up to its expectations, the large majority of the posts here will be twice as valuable as half the ones that actually do count.

You're going to count the mindless chatter of the villages, just because the mob demands it, and deny the actually deserving posts--just because the mob demands it?

So me one sign of excessive spamming by more than a few individuals and I will agree that posts should not count. But as it stands, you are denying recognition for some of the most intelligent and worthwhile posts on this forum.

You're valuing Quantity, the quantity of the masses, over Quality, the quality of us few who actually choose to apply ourselves to debate.

Hm..Hypocritical to the original purpose of selecting which posts count, no? ; )

I am gonna act like a little immature kid and say this

"they shouldnt count! it's not a debating forum! it's a NARUTO FORUM! in that matter MY POSTS SHOULD COUNT!!! i am making threads about how awesome SASUKE is! he is a NARUTO CHARACTER so it is more related with this forum than that thread "SCIENCE JUST PROVED RELIGION WRONG ON THIS SUBJECT", so why should yours count and not mine! and you being smarter than me, well i am 9 years old! you are like 40 so you are smarter"

anyways itasan what is the deal with the posts counting, i know tbc wanted the whole off topic area to count.... it's not a popularity contest you know?

Except in the example you used...Those posts would count.

And we want these ones to count, because they actually mean something. When Chidori said the off topic, he was talking about these kinds of topics--the ones with depth and actually meaning in real life. He was talking about the discussion of important things, things that have an impact on people and the way they live.

By taking away the post count here, you are taking away the recognition, the acknowledgment, of these posts. You are disregarding them as meaningless and nonsensical. You are saying they have no impact on anything.

No, Itu, it is not the numbers I'm concerned about. It's the concept of the thing.

Except in the example you used...Those posts would count. (really? cause ive seen a lot of them in the off topic section that dont count)

And we want these ones to count, because they actually mean something. When Chidori said the off topic, he was talking about these kinds of topics--the ones with depth and actually meaning in real life. He was talking about the discussion of important things, things that have an impact on people and the way they live. (this is not that type of forum, this is a naruto forum. There are thousands of forums out there that tbc can run off to and his post will count there, we need to recognize that this forum was made for naruto fans, not really intelligent persons like the ones that want a forum for debates.)

By taking away the post count here, you are taking away the recognition, the acknowledgment, of these posts. You are disregarding them as meaningless and nonsensical. You are saying they have no impact on anything.(but by making them count you attract the people without any sense of control to come and post here. In essence by making this posts count, you are gonna give an invitation to failure. simple as that.)

No, Itu, it is not the numbers I'm concerned about. It's the concept of the thing.(the concept of the forum is to have intelligent conversation and debates not to be rewarded. this is reminding me of the chat box before you guys got there, it was actually used to discuss somewhat important things. The more people that got there the farther away it got from its main purpose. And i do not want that to happen to this forum, which i am excited about. I would go as far to suggest that if you wanna post here you have to pay some of your post counts or rep, so as not to encourage idiotic conversations.)

red red red.
