Why would they need to make a refference? Hinata is a minor character so they can't really do much to refference anything about her.

They don't choose to, they have a much better way, since they control it in a much more fine way, Sakura has to put a lot of chakra into one hand, Hinata could put the same amount of chakra in one finger.

If Hinata hits Sakura in the correct spot, she can cut off Sakura's chakra use and cut off any chance for her to win. However, this would take correct timing and she'd have to get around Sakura's speed to hit her. Sakura could punch the ground to get Hinata off balance as well, then she could easily hit her as she falls. Hinata may not go down in one punch, but a few chakra enhanced hits and Hinata will probably fall.

However, if Hinata knows about Sakura's techniques and has certain equipment, she could win.

You;re not making any sense, Sakura trained with Tsunade for only 2 1/2 years and the only reason they gained that title was because they were defeated by a stronger opponent. So don't think they're invincible.

Hinata can't defend the entire match. She would have 2 get close 2 use her 64 palms that giving the Sakura the chance to punch her, and after 1 punch it is over. Not only that but Sakura actually has range as well. She can punch ground causing splash dmg in every direction.To top it all off she can heal.

Hinata is tougher then most people give her credit for. But her skills are dug into defense. And it's pretty hard to defend against Sakura. Asuming you can even prepare for it.

I would like to say Sakura is way above average speed. This was shown in her fight with Sasori. I doubt Hinata has the chance to block off her chakra. Not only that, but Sakura was trained by a Sannin giving her supeior skillz.
