I remember the good old days of Halo. I remember forging with friends, killing people with friends in 4v4 matches, and random custom games.

Good times.

Then I got tired of the same old stuff over and over again. I moved on to RPGs.

I do like the story, though. I have the books and the comic Halo:Uprising between the 2nd and 3rd games. It is a really good story, and I really want to know what happens to the Master Chief after Halo 3.

Halo started out great, but it seemed to get really repetitive to me. I prefer to play on CoD or Fifa.

Yeah, thats one of the reason I think ODST is gonna be great. It has an open world feel, all around New Mombassa, its not just repeted missions, over again. And firefight, Halo's version of Nazi zombies, or horde.

Yeah, for a console RTS it was really good.

Yeah sorta... your and ODST(called the "Rookie") who was knocked out for 6 hours after your drop. Now the rest of your squad is missing and you have to find out what happened. So you explore the big city of New Mombassa, fighting off covenant patrols looking for clues as to what happened to your squad. (sort of like a detective) Then if you find something, you go into a flashback as one of your squadmates. So then your controling your squadmate instead of the Rookie and you finding out what happened during the 6 hours you were out. Then theres this AI called the "Super Intendant". Hes sorta like Cortana, but he doesnt go in your armor or anything. He the city AI, so he can control the signs to tell you were to go and stuff.

Than theres firefight were you play as one of the ODST in your squad, (or Seargent Johnson if you preorder the game :p) and fight wave after wave of covenant. The waves get harder each time, and have new covenants each time. (I.E.-first wave may have grunts and jackels, while the second may have alot of brutes) The waves change every time you play, so you'll never fight the exact same wave twice. And sometimes, random skulls turn on, making it harder for you.

I know, i've seen the trailer. It looks pretty cool. I can't wait to see more about it. The multiplayer beta is going to be released with ODST. I'm more excited about Reach than I am about ODST.

All we know is that it is going to be first-person shooter and have it's own multiplayer. That is pretty much all we know for sure. I'm kind of interested to know what the tag-line for the game means. "From the Beginning, You know the End". They would kind of have to go mostly from the book so they don't have have any contradictions.

Spartan-IIIs suck. There were too many of them trained at once. IIIs were made as a last hope against the Covenaut. They weren't well trained and they were sent on suicide missions. Spartan-IIs like John, Kelly, and the others were the best.

Yeah... but thats one a the reason I loved to be the Arbiter in Halo 2. He had cloaking! I loved just walking in and assassinating all the brutes before anyone noticed.

I first time I played as the Arbiter I was confused and started to kill the Elites. Then I realized, wait, i'm an elite, and I jumped off a clift. I don't like steath games much. I like to go in fighting and shooting.

So confusing. I didn't really like the Arbiter levels from Halo 2 all that much. My favorite levels were Cairo Station, Outskirts, Metropolis, and my 2 favorite: Gravemind and High Charity.

Last level was called The Great Journey. I can't believe I still remember all of the level names. Delta Halo was ok. Glitching on that level was fun. I know so many glitches in Halo 2. Superjumps and other random stuff.

The flood on Halo 2 were anoying, melee did nothing! Now in Halo 3 its like an instant kill. >.<

The flood are supposed to immune to melee attacks, and then they completely changed it in Halo 3. Also, Brutes aren't supposed to be able to be infected by the Flood, but they are in Halo 3 and in Halo Wars. And in Halo Wars, Grunts and Jackels could get in infected by the Flood and they're not supposed to be able to.

Yeah, but that was required in Halo Wars. If the flood couldn't infect anyone on the covenant side, then no-one would use the spartans. But they shouldn't have done it in Halo 3

There were alot of things required for halo wars. Such as the flood infecting grunts anf jackals as well. Or the SPARTANs jumping 50ft in the air to jack a banshee.
In Halo 3 the flood completely changed. They got repetitive just rushing at you over and over. Then theres the true forms... The ranger forms were just anoying shooting you from somewhere so far away you cant hit it with your little assault rifle(bad memories from Cortana). Then theres the tank form, which would have been good as a challenge, but it dies in 1 hit from an Energy Sword.

I hated the Cortana level. It was soooooooooo confusing. I've played through it over 10 times, and I still get confused.

Same here. That paired with the ranger forms shooting you every ten steps, made it my least favorite level.
I like the last level, Halo. Killing Guilty Spark just made me happy, his "I am a genuis" talk got on my nerves. >.< And you have so many choices for the final run thing, Ghosts, Choppers, Warthogs, and a Mongoose.

And I love the cut scene at the end of the level with the activation of the portal to the Ark and then the Flood ship arrival. It is just so awesome and so much fun. Plus I know how to get ouf the level during the Scarab fight.

I very much dislike Halo, I liked the first one because it reminded me of the good ol' days of Golden Eye(system linking anyway) but after a while it got too flashing and kind of re-hashed itself every time. Each game felt like it was reinventing the wheel in terms of single player game-play, I liked the online but that soon died down after I couldn't join one match without it being full of juvenile kids. I mean seriously where are these kids' parents and why do they know about every cuss word in the book, are they the spawn of Satan!

(Single-player)I mean how many times can you shoot the same thing over and over and not get tired of it; little alien, medium alien, huge alien, zombie, aliens and zombies, robot, explosion and repeat[3 times for every game].

But I do respect the fans and I hope you aren't getting milked shovel ware out of ODST and Reach. As far as story goes it was kind of like every sci-fi movie of the past few decades crammed into a trilogy of epic craziness. But I DO grow so tired of the "lets all depend on this one guy to save everything" type of games coming out.

So in summation, Halo: CE was decent for it's, multi-player and Red vs Blue machinema; but I fear the franchise is going to loose it's appeal and fade into the darkness like so many other previously popular games before it(sonic comes to mind).

Yeah, I agree with the matchmaking things, I either put everyone on mute, or go in a party with people I can stand now...

I do agree single player got repetitive, but how many times can you play 9 missions before getting bored, anyway?

I personlly believe ODST is going to be great. From what i've seen of gameplay, and the such, is looks amazing. Yeah, those games tend to get old with just single player. But this is why I think ODST is going to be good. It isnt about that one guy thing. Its about being an ODST. You revolve more around stealth and teamwork, and less about the "I haz awesum sheildz, teh Covenants cant hurt mah."

I believe Halo CE was one of the best games, for its time. But yeah, at this point Microsoft is going to continue to milk Halo for all its worth. Thats why I was somewhat glad Bungie stated "Halo: Reach is it for us. We're already working on a new IP." It means Bungie will be done making the Halo games, so hopefully Microsoft will give up trying to milk it more... not that its likely though.

I'm making a map in forge on Sandbox. I can't even begin to describe it, but the idea come from a game me and my friend were playing on Guardian. It was a good idea for a game, but needed a map where it worked better. So i'm creating one.

There are a lot of gameplay trailer out.

I'm going to interested to see how the open world aspect of it will go. It's going to interesting since the games story is like a mystery and you have to try and found out what happened to your squadmates.

Well, besides for firefight, which is like Gears of War's horde mode. Up to 4 players face off against wave after wave of Covenaut forces. And you only have a certain amout of lifes. And skulls will randomly turn on that will effect the way you have to fight.

And ODST is going to ship with the Halo:Reach multiplayer beta.

And ODST is going to ship with 3 new maps plus all the other DLC maps for people who don't have Xbox Live.

Halo is awesome, my friend and I play ranked Team Slayer and jump in the Warthog, that's how we get all of our kills. But it works, my skill went up almost every round we won and i was the driver!!! My friend on the turret... his didn't go up lol... :mrgreen::mrgreen:

Thats why I like Snowbound. Just throw grenades down there. Multikills are good. :D

I'm good with the Carbine, but I like the BR better. I'm really good at throwing a grenade at someone and when it explodes, shoting the person in the head while their shields are down. I have almost perfecting timing when doing this.

I remember the good old days of Halo. I remember forging with friends, killing people with friends in 4v4 matches, and random custom games.

Good times.

Then I got tired of the same old stuff over and over again. I moved on to RPGs.

I do like the story, though. I have the books and the comic Halo:Uprising between the 2nd and 3rd games. It is a really good story, and I really want to know what happens to the Master Chief after Halo 3.

If you are talking about the open-world aspect of the ODST campaign, I got to say............... I LOVE IT!!! I love open-world and exploring. I have to go everywhere and do everything is games like Fallout and Fable. So during this is Halo game will be sooooooooo much fun for me.

I think ODST should be the best yet, aside from the lack of XBL multiplayer. Firefight+Open world, just makes it seem awesome to me.

I agree. Although the Rookie's part in campaign gets a bit repetitive. I went for Vidmaster: Endure, the achievement, and made it to Set 3 Round 3 Wave 5 and then died. I'm going to try again later.

I talked to a friend who had played through the campaign. He was nice and didn't spoil for me, but he said it was really good.
