AsumaxKurenai -- That's a given. Don't argue if you aren't up to date with the anime aired in Japan and/or the manga.

MinatoxKushina -- Another given. You won't know who these two are at all if you aren't reading the manga.

LeexTenten -- If you've paid close attention, in volume 27, chapter 238 Tenten is seen sighing dreamily as she watched Lee train. Isn't that enough to prove she likes him?

JiraiyaxTsunade -- Friendship or not, it's obvious they were feeling more than they let on. Though, now we'll never know.

See, this is what I didn't want to happen in this thread, talk about SENSIBLE pairings, or don't talk at all. This about discussing pairings that make sense, not doomsday. Please, try to stay on topic.

ChouIno is not sensible. They may be on the same team, but there is no logical proof behind it.

SasuSaku is another no. Why? Because Sakura's affection is waning and Sasuke no longer wants anything to do with Konoha, besides wanting to destroy it. Sakura might be loyal to a friend she might have had, but there's no more love. Just a simple devotion to some school-girl crush she had a long time ago.

NaruHina. Let's talk about this. It's onesided, so I'm against it.

NejiTen is an ABSOLUTE no, because Tenten likes Lee. Just because they look hot together and there's no proof for any other Neji pairing doesn't mean you should pair him up with Tenten.

ShikaTem? Maybe, but Shiho has actually shown her feelings for him, so I'll go with that.

This is NOT thread to talk about your favorite pairings. This is a thread to talk about LOGICAL ones. If it were, I would have started off with SasuNaru. Now try to follow those simple guidelines, okay?

Well they had three years to talk to eachother and I don't think they have to talk for Sakura to figure it out every one that has seen Hinata try to talk to Naruto has figured it out.

Shikamaru's been Temari's companion in the beginning of Shippuuden, they collaborate attacks in the 4th Naruto movie ~1st Naruto Shippuuden movie~ and has anyone ever noticed the little omake in one of the Shippuuden episodes where Shikamaru jokes and says that the series will be rennamed to Shikamaru Shippuuden? ~There are 2 silhouettes in the background: Shikamaru AND Temari. Coincidence? I seriously think not. :D

Well, excuse me, but I thought it made plenty of sense since they've known each other since they were ten. Mix that in with the fact that Konan kind of sort of saved his life, I should think there was some sort of mutual attraction.

Me getting hostile too fast? No, I am just stating a fact. I wish people would make more effort concentrating on other parts of the manga instead of the fluff sometimes. I do have favorite pairings, but I don't let it interfere with enjoying the manga. Sensible pairings for you may be someone else's crack pairing.

A crack pairing is defined as something that's completely out of nowhere with no basis or root. So, IrukaxTemari would be considered a crack pairing. So, they'd be wrong if they assumed my pairing as crack if it wasn't, and actually had basis.

Now me, I DO focus on the serious part of the manga, but unfortunately it's hard to reason with most fanbrats because they watch the anime, and that, as a lot of us know, as tons more fanservice than the manga. I don't like fluff--I love the angst and action of the series and it's the entire reason I stick with it. It's only a bonus when some unexpected little dabs of my favorite pairing are shoved in sometimes.

But this is the pairings that make sense and i think that Shino and Ino make perfect sense. The manga can't follow every minute of their lives, and obviously they've interacted some because they know who the other person is. Besides.... just because they aren't close doesn't mean they don't make sense together. Personalitywise, they would really work.

You all DO realize this is all a matter of opinion? One person would say that NaruSaku makes sense because Naruto loves Sakura, but then another will say that it doesn't because Hinata loves Naruto. If Akihoshi thinks ShinoIno is a sensible pairing, guess what? It's a sensible pairing. I've seen it a few times before too. Every pairing is sensible because there's at least 1 person who likes it. Most people just assume that because it's popular, it's the only one that makes sense, and if it's not popular, it doesn't have a chance in hell.

Canon doesn't always makes sense, crack pairings can make a lot of sense. It's all opinion and how well others can make it look.

I find most pairings reasonable. From NaruSaku to NaruHina to KisaTen to GaaTsu. I've seen them all and think there's nothing wrong with them. Reasonable would mean that the pairing could work, whether or not they've talked, because some non-canon pairings take little to look very good. There's a lot of great fanfiction for non-canon pairings out there, as well as canon ones.


SakuNaruHina makes the most sense to me. Naruto loves Sakura, Hinata to Naruto, Sakura seems to have been hit with realization in recent chapters, and Naruto knows the truth about Hinata and might like her too. Both parties win (Except LeeSaku and KibaHina get nothing :()

I'm a solid Shikatema person, but that's just me. It seems that Kishimoto is droping the most hints for this pairing out of all the other non-obvious ones (i.e. AsumaxKurenai and MinatoxKushina so couples that are ACTUALLY PROVEN to be together). Almost every time Temari is in the manga for more than a few panels, Shikamaru is with her.

Also Temari is one of the only characters that can keep up with Shikamaru mentally. They are heavy strategists and TO ME it seems like they relate to one another the most.... ;)

NaruSaku has had way more moments than NaruHina, and has had consistent and constant development throughout the manga.

Thirdly, love is not about who deserves who. If that were the case, then Naruto would deserve Sakura, Hinata would deserve Naruto, and Sakura would deserve Sasuke (if she still loved him).

Just because she risked her life to save does not mean their undeniably going to end up together. Naruto risked his life to save Sakura and Sasuke from Gaara (and Naruto kept bringing up Sakura over and over again throughout that fight), and Sasuke has risked his life to save Naruto.

There was nothing to suggest a serious relationship on any level between the two - lord knows why Ino was crying when they were discussing killing Sasuke, but I doubt it was because of any romantic feelings she has for Sasuke, especially with the way she was carrying on over Sai.
Rock Lee&Sakura:

He's sacrificed so much for her emotionally in order to make her happy. She said herself that he understands her and that he's always been there for her and that she trusts him completely.

Don't get me wrong, I think LeeSaku is plenty cute, but it's been seriously neglected on both sides in canon. I don't think they've said more than two words to each other in the entirety of part 2.

I don't see any romance in this from Sakura's side in canon. However, if NaruSaku didn't occur, LeeSaku would be my next pairing preference for Sakura! :D

If it isn't obvious already, the most sensible pairings to me are:


NaruSaku: These two have had so many hints and so much development throughout the manga that I just can't see it not happening. It's realistic and gradual and I find that they just fit incredibly well together. I feel it also parallels Sakura's growth as a character incredibly well, and was foreshadowed ever since the moment in which Kakashi lectured them on the mistakes they made during their initial attempt at the bell test. They compliment each other and have grown with each other.

SasuKarin: This pairing has grown on me. Admittedly, I didn't like it at first, as it seemed a repeat of SasuSaku, but Karin has a better background to relate with Sasuke, and doesn't take his crap. Karin will tell Sasuke he's being weak or wrong if she thinks so. She may fangirl over Sasuke sometimes, but she doesn't let it get in the way of her duties as a shinobi. Sasuke also acknowledged her, and inquired after her health, something he never did with Sakura who was arguably the female he was closest to before. He also respects Karin and her abilities, or she wouldn't be with him on Team Taka.
ShikaTema: I like their dynamics a lot, and they've been paralleled with Shikamaru's parents as well. They haven't really gotten any development in part 2 besides the "date" Naruto thought they were on right after he got back, but they work well together.

I'm not really going to mention AsuKure or MinaKushi, because while I like those pairings and find them sensible, they're already canon, so I find little merit in discussing them. :)

For me, the most sensible are: NaruSaku, LeeSaku, ShikaTema, and JiraTsun.

NaruSaku, ShikaTem, and JiraTsun for the reasons that have already been stated by other users. LeeSaku because, well, I kind of see their relationship as something like Sakura's with Naruto. The only major difference, however, is the amount of time they spend together. Lee was one of the few who showed to Sakura the true meaning of strength and ambitions, of sacrifice, and she in turn has come to greatly admire and respect him for it. She treats him very kindly and vise-versa. If they ever got closer to each other, and spent more time with each other, I could easily see them becoming more than just friends simply because of that mutual respect, understanding, and the desire to protect others and be acknowledged.

Or something, I'm not really sure. :P
