View Full Version : My Theory

As the title suggests...I have a theory.:p

First of all, let's lay out the facts:
-Toonami was cancelled towards the end of 2008.
-Naruto was cancelled in February 2009 after being shown gradually less.
-Cartoon Network refuses to say anything about Naruto, but has given no official announcement about cancelling Naruto.
-Viz is very vague but says that they're working to bring out the Naruto English dub soon.
-Naruto Shippuden is currently being dubbed.

In my opinion, it sounds like Cartoon Network is planning a huge marathon. They're overdue for one in the first place and they won't officially cancel it. The long pause in the release of them would not only give time for the episodes to be dubbed, but would also cause fans to want Naruto even more. Since Viz is being so vague, it sounds like they might know about it.

I'm thinking that the marathon would have a few episodes that were released, then all of the unreleased Naruto episodes, and finally the first episode of Shippuden. After this marathon would be a return of Naruto to Cartoon Network, airing once a week once again.

This is only a theory, so please be gentle.;)

The way I see it, they've turned their backs on Naruto forever. I doubt that they'll do a marathon. It is possible, but I think it's unlikely.

This is what i was thinking in the begging but since they took it off for a long time they lost alot of viewers. Over that time ratings went down and so did the amount of money they had. I dont think a huge marathon is gonna be enough to get back all of the money that was lost over that time period unless it is like 3 days long and then show it freakuently every week. I also think that they wont show Naruto at all it is still very unlikely. They have given up on Naruto. Thats what i think.

I hope they dont put on naruto shippuden on cartoon network because THEYRE GONNA KILL IT!!!!!!!!! and theyre gonna make it sound SO STUPID!!!!!! and the second part should not ever be on TV besides what would kill it even more is the merchendice with a bunch of little kids shouting RASENGAN!!! and CHIDORI!!!! and THEY WOULD MAKE NARUTO PROBABLY SAY BELEIVE IT AGAIN!!!!!!!

I don't know, because they have so many new shows now. And toonami was the only place time slot on their channel that had violence in it. i think its over. *cries* (well, there are always the uncut box sets!)

It just seems wierd to me that they won't air it, but they won't have an official announcement that they've cancelled it and ignore emails concerning Naruto (although they probably do that with every email from fans).

I agree. But I do hope that they atleast put some re-runs of the first part on, but it would probably be better on adult swim.

Look, it isn't just Naruto. Have you noticed there is hardly any anime on Cartoon Network?

It appears that this theory isn't going to happen. I heard that at Comic Con (I think it was Comic Con:|) Viz announced that Naruto wouldn't return to TV, but would be released in DVD box sets starting September 22.

The last of the Naruto dubbed episodes will be released on September 22 and the first four Shippuden episodes will be released on DVD on September 29.

I guess it's no big deal since each Shippuden DVD will have 4 episodes and it's being release about once a month. That means that about the same number of episodes are being released each month.

To Sasori of the Red Sand: This is the same exact theory I had, and you also provided good support on it. Good job. *leads a standing ovation*

To goujin: I was going to say the same thing, except I don't have a penpal named Alec. ( - ω - )

My supplement: CN may be doing this, although that may leave people thinking why CN didn't just leave Naruto be. (although Naruto Shippuden is somewhat worth doing something that special)
