Edo Madara should be called Madara

Previously, he was just a trump card. But now, after he broke Kabuto's control, he is free.

Now he is simply super strong Shinobi with powers he didn't have in the past, unlimited access to Chakra and great regenerative skills.

Saying Edo is not necessary anymore.

If you mean the one who fought Hashirama, you can simply say Past Madara or something like that.

This now is true Madara's form.

Same doesn't go for Itachi since Kabuto still was the one with power to seal him away!!! :D

No we would still call him edo madara because that's what his current power up is.

Calling him edo madara is no different than reffering to naruto by his powered up names when he uses that specific power up

No, by saying Sage Naruto, you indicate he starts in Sage Mode.

Madara however, whether Madara or Edo Madara is always the same person with same powers. He ačways starts as an Edo Tensei Shinobi. That's who he is now. He is not just a tool anymore.

Just like Obito is always Obito. Whether you call him Obito or Obito who cooperates with Madara.

If you mean Kid Obito, you can call him Kid Obito, Past Obito,...

Actually if you get right down to it edo madara isn't the real madara.

He looks like him, acts like him and has his powers but its not madara's own body because he's and edo even in full control he's still an edo

As his edo version clearly is leagues above anything his base form could do(which would still be impressive )

He is the same person but not with the same powers.
His infinite chakra allows for spam to the extent that his normal form would die of exhausted at some point.
Not to mention the ability to regenerate from things which would vaporize the true version.

Edo Madara is what Madara is. That is who he is.

Kabuto PTS is greatly different than Kabuto who got Orochimaru's powers. And Kabuto with Orochimaru is way stronger. The fact that he got power from Orochimaru doesn't matter. That was his form.

Suppose when Kakashi was revived that he was revived in a body of someone with Rinnegan (suppose Pain had such ability). When you would say Kakashi, you would mean Kakashi with Rinnegan. How he obtained it is meaningless.

The only reason Edo Tensei zombies were treated differently because they weren't themselves. They were just a tool used by Kabuto.

But Madara freed himself and is who he is with additional powers.

If Orochimaru took Sasuke's body, he would get Sharingan. Doesn't matter, he is still Orochimaru. Whether Sasuke had Sharingan or super regeneration or unlimited Chakra doesn't matter.

Madara is currently aware and in a body with greater power. Power that is not just temporary. If it would be just a temporary power (like when Wendy heals Natsu not to feel sick), then I'd agree. But his new form is permanent!!! :D

Actually no it can't be permanant otherwise he couldn't be beaten inuvniverse which would mean it must be a way to reverse ET

Not to mention the the madara we've been seeing in obito's flashback is the real madara. And the fact that edo tensei is effectively a cloning technique

This is like calling Edo Itachi plain "Itachi"

This isn't Madara's true, normal form. He's beefed on Hashi-roids and Edo Tensei. It's a completely different form than his true self.

He is still an Edo Tensei, regardless of being free from Kabuto.

That's why he's called Edo Maddy.

Although it doesn't even matter what you call him. Most assume you are talking about Edo Maddy regardless

Honestly, I'm fine with him just referred to as "Madara" when it comes to battle vs. debates if the OP specifies if he's Edo or not initially so we don't have to keep on saying "edo".
