I Want To Be

I want to be a smile,
But all I bleed is sorrow.
I want to be able to run a mile,
But I need a pair of legs to borrow.

I want to be a shed of light,
But my atmosphere is shear darkness.
I want to be a rope that's tight,
But I'll be used in a way that's loveless.

I want to be something beautiful,
But that's far away in a dream.
I want to be something powerful,
But that would need to involve a large team.

I want to be a shooting star,
But all I'm able to do is weigh down.
I want to be a stylish car,
But there are no streets to drive to town.

I want to be a daylight cloud,
But I always appear as grey.
I want to be heard as loud,
But I'm only the whisper where the dead lay.

I want to be loved,
But people hate me as much as I can.
I want to be a pile of toxic blood,
That's pretty much all I am.
