In NU2012 512 Naruto characters was chosen as candidates. Meaning only first round would have 256 battles. Overall, there would be at least 511 battles.

Of 512 characters, I manually eliminated all but 128 characters. That is, only 25% remains of all candidates.

Out of 128 remaining characters, 64 will not be manually eliminated but rather through debates.

This means there will be 64 preliminary battles. Altogether, at least 127.

Not to overburden the judges, and since this is just the preliminaries, standard battlegrounds rules apply.
