Good Casualties: Konan, Anko, Yamato, Muta Aburame, Samui, Atsui, Gaara, A, Onoki, Mei, Tsunade. Far more than half of the fodder shinobi.

Akatsuki Casualties: Kisame, (original) White Zetsu, Black Zetsu, Kabuto. Essentially the entire Zetsu Army.

The ones in red are either dead, or have a 99% chance of being dead by the end of the war due to their current situations (i.e. Tsunade, Samui, Atsui)

The point of a war isn't to see how many people you can kill-so it's definitely not "useless". You're mad that more major characters haven't died, but others are happy because they haven't lost their favorite characters for the sole purpose of "dramatic effect" or "realism".

Actually Samui/Atsui are sealed not dead. 75% chance that The kages will be saved by tsunade, Yamato is captured not dead, Anko is unconfirmed i doubt she would be dead as kabuto needed oros chakara out of her.

Only the fodder, Edos are 100 % dead.

Just like the other people i do wish for some more deaths of people we actually care about. Because thats baicly the purpose of a war arc. To let us see the horror of war the immorality the unfairness and let us experience the loss of some of out fave chars. Some extra gore instead of the pg-12 fake arm dripping off which we already have seen xxxx times would be nice too.

If this is not done the war arc is kind of pointless. It doesnt feel like war it feels more like the konoha invasion+rescue gaara arc with lots of fodder fighting in the background.

Its not even the thing that people dont die which bothers me its the fact that kishi wastes so much potential dramatic scenes/dream match ups. Why didnt neji meet his father so that the hyuuga can get some lore lovin again. I would have loved to see a and his dad clash. Why not make nagato meet madara so all the mystery would be a little clearer. Why didnt the jinchuriki have any kind of personality? Where are our sasuke retrieval arc-esque k11 fights which would finally let them all shine instead of the whole boring and overdone so6p,uchiha/senju $#%$. etc etc etc.

Also where are the famous clans from the other shinobi villages is konoha the only one with usefull clans and overpowered kekkei genkai? Why dont the other villages hve dojutsu. Seriously its like konoha has all the hax in the series and the other villages have nothing. How could they have ever waged war with konoha when the uchiha could just amaterasu everyone and be done with. Even hashi could just let his tailed beast rampage through all the other cities and their pwned .Nothing they could do about it.

But I am gettin way off topic. The point is this might as well not have been a war arc as we dont get awesome fights, dramatic scenes and heartbreaking deaths. In fact this war more important people have come back from the grave then important who have died. Alot of wasted potential etc.

Might as well remove all the fodder useless divisions who awesome powers and fights we never get to see anyways. Forget about the shinobi alliance and call it '' The Obito arc''. Belief me you wouldnt notice much difference.

Well seeing as Samui and Atsui just got chomped on by the Maza, I'm not holdin' on to much hope for them. Tsunade is split in two and shown to be ready to "make the noble sacrifice" (i.e. save the other Kage instead of herself). Casualties aren't just dead people, but people who are severely injured, incapacitated or captured (aka unable to fight for their side). The ones who are dead or almost certainly will be dead I highlighted in red.

The war has already gone on for almost 100 chapters, Kishi just doesn't have the time to focus on every side character's battle and show other clan's abilities who we'll never see again. He already did the emotional reunion w/ Asuma and Team 10-again he has no time to put in every side character fighting someone they know if it's not advancing the plot. Though I must admit that I would've liked to see more from the K11 during this war (all of them, not just Team 10)
