Namco Bandai Games, today, revealed Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 will be heading to Europe in Spring 2013! The exact release date has not yet been announced.

NARUTO Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 will feature the most extensive character roster of any game so far in the series, letting fans engage with a huge number of their favourite personalities from the NARUTO universe, be they friend or foe. In story mode, players will be thrown into a series of thrilling adventures set in the village of Konoha, while the game’s electrifying fights will be punctuated with massive scale boss battles, including a fearsome confrontation with the gargantuan Nine-Tails.

Someone from another Naruto Forum who went to try out the Storm 3 demo at the Expo listed these features that were in it. Here it is!

1 ) The demo featured the Sub bar during the minato boss fight with 4 Subs like in Generations ( Each subs is represented by a log. on the bar ).

2 ) Minato gets one move when he's awakened, L1 & R1 each with a different cooldown.
Press one of them and Minato trows a Kunai, if its connects he rasengan his opponent from above like in the manga.

3 ) Awakening is INSTANT. You heared me right. Awakening is instant. ( Press R3 to use Awakening. )

4 ) Awakening is not longer linked to your chakra bar, you can awaken regardless of your chakra bar when you're low life.

5 ) And last you don't get full chakra bar when Awakening is available. Yep you read that right.

From there we can guess two things.
Everyone gets L1 & R1 new moves when Awakened.
Or it just a story mode thing.

Where does the Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 story begin?

It begins with a flashback, the Nine Tails Invasion arc, which is what the Japan Expo demo contained. Afterwards, the story will mainly focus on events after the meeting of the Kage.

Will Naruto Storm 3 will focus on the Fourth Shinobi World War?

Yes, that will be the focus of story mode.

Does that mean the story will go up until the appearance of Madara?

Matsuyama, who was laughing and shaking his head at the question, mentions that the end is not really defined yet. The information will be revealed eventually, and there will be a few surprises that will be revealed before the game’s release.
Gaara France notes that they asked Matsuyama-san about Kabuto (Snake Form) and Masked Man for Naruto Generations and were met with the same response, so there is hope for Madara!

How long is story mode and how many boss battles will it contain?

The style will be similar to Naruto Storm 2. Story mode will have several boss battles. It’s too early to estimate the playing time at this moment, but CyberConnect2 has put in a lot of effort into it, especially the visual aspect.

In Naruto Generations, a substitution jutsu bar system was implemented. Will that be returning?

Players have given a lot of feedback in regards to this and CyberConnect2 is considering their opinions as development progresses, but the substitution bar system will be in.

Can players awaken from the start of a match in Naruto Storm 3?

Yes, a good example is from the Japan Expo demo where Minato awakens early in the battle against Masked Man. That is a story mode match, but in normal battles, players will also be able to awaken from the beginning of the match. It will vary from character to character, but early awakenings could have a severe impact, such as fatigue. This will be a new tool to add to a potential combat strategy.

Will there be character customization in Storm 3, such as selectable jutsus, ultimate jutsus, etc?

When a character awakens, the characters have new attacks, speeds, and jutsus. As for personalization, ideas from fans have been collected, and CyberConnect2 is formulating potential implementations as development progresses.

Will characters have new costumes?

Yes, there have been a lot of requests for this so new jutsus and outfits will be in! CyberConnect2 wants to meet the fan demand as a priority!

How does Matsumuya-san look at the option for creating your own ninja, village, buildings, affinities, jutsus, etc?

He thinks it’s very interesting, but not a feature that’s been asked for too much.

Will characters from Part 1 (the pre-timeskip characters) be in Naruto Storm 3?

The story will focus on the ninja war, so characters who have appeared in Naruto Shippuden will make a come back. Part 1 exclusive characters will not make a return. There will, however, be a lot of new characters!

Naruto Generations shipped over 1 million copies around the world. How successful do you feel about this is?
Naruto Storm 2 had reached 1.3 million copies. Being able to reproduce that success has been something special for us so we think with Generations really achieved something incredible!
What makes us really happy is to see all the feedback that had been sent in after the release of Storm 2 and Generations. From the fighting system and beyond, the feedback means a lot to us because it helps improve the fluidity of the game.

How far will in the story will Naruto Storm 3 go?
I can’t really go into detail at the present time, but we planned to include as much content in story mode as possible. In particular, all of the anime episodes that have been aired up until the 2013 release, we hope to include in the game.

In Naruto Generations, there were over 70 playable characters. What has CyberConnect2 planned for Naruto Storm 3?
Details on the number of characters will be revealed in the future. The only thing I can say at this present time is that if fans have been waiting for any characters impatiently, I think we will respond to their expectations.

What are the major changes made to the fighting system for Naruto Storm 3?
What will henceforth play a very important role in the fight is that you will be able to trigger the awakening from the beginning, thanks to the right stick on the control pad. This will play a decisive role in when planning out strategy in battles.
Although awakening mode will trigger additional power for a period of time, the downside is that the character will be more brittle and easier to attack afterwards. In other words, triggering awakening mode has it’s risks.
Again, this will play into the strategy of the fight since players will have to determine the best time to go into awakening mode.

What are the additions to story mode?
Execution of quick time events (QTE) in the battles themselves. This is something that we wanted to include especially since it will satisfy players who enjoy this sort of gameplay. Players will be met with a combination of codes that they will have to enter to trigger cinematic scenes from the anime series to further embellish the battle. We feel this is a small bonus that will allow the game to have greater replay value.
Besides the story mode, there is also another mode completely on which we are working on, but at this time we can’t tell you what it is. It will be revealed at a later time, so stay tuned!
On the topic of replay value, for Naruto Storm Generations we did a lot of effort to ensure that players remain online in as long as possible, so this time, after having finished the story mode, there will still be a lot of content to enjoy. We have new ideas in development so that players will be able to take the most pleasure and as long as possible.

Naruto Storm Generations came out a year ago and Naruto Storm 3 is already announced. Can you promise fans a quality game?
Contrary to what one might think, the development of Storm 3 did not start after Generations. In reality what happened was when development of Storm 2 was finished, the team divided into two. We had a team that was part of Generations and another team that has started working in parallel on Storm 3.
There is over two and a half (2.5) years worth of work behind Storm 3. It’s not a project that will just be coming out just after Generations, there have been a lot of months of planning and development, which will continue to 2013.
But rest assured, in time, we will provide you with the ultimate game to delight you!

And finally, you’ve dawned the Naruto costume before, including the current Sage Mode outfit. Next year we see you in Tailed Beast Chakra Mode?
I’ll try to do it if I can get a special license from Shueisha for that particular outfit.

Is there anything more you could wish for?
We’ve received the great news that Naruto Generations has exceeded 1 million copies. Development on Naruto Storm 3 is underway, with the release scheduled for Spring 2013. As crazy as it sounds, we hope to reach 2 million copies! This is our goal and we hope that players will follow us again, so we count on your support as usual! Dattebayo!

I think it's possible you can kill support characters now. I've been looking at a lot of the videos from the demo and I have noticed that around the support character Icons on the Hub, There appears to be 6 bars around each support character.

Look at 1:20 to 1:30 on the video posted below, after Minato awakening ends he summons the 3rd Hokage and something apparently hits him and one of the bars disappears.

Interviewer: The Naruto manga has evolved into increasingly dramatic events. Do you notice this in the game?
M: Absolutely. CC2 weekly follows both the manga and anime of Naruto and we are always thinking how to adapt and represent it in the game.

Interviewer: In NUNS 2 the battles against bosses (or boss fights) were awesome. Whats’s new in this sense there?


M: The boss battles were very important and very welcome in Storm2 althougt in Generations there weren’t. In Storm 3 there will be many scenes of combat with bosses.

Interviewer: How far Masashi Kishimoto, creator of Naruto, he knows the game and has influence on him? Does he provide new ideas?


M: Initially, 0Kishimoto sense does not get too much into the development of the Ultimate Ninja series. From CC2 we do inform him how the game is evolving but he does not interfere at all.

Interviewer: In Naruto Storm 2, Lars had a cameo. Is there someone else in this third game of the series?


M: There is no intention to include guest characters, but it will be a series of downloadble content, like Goku costume.

Interviewer: If Naruto can dress of Goku, will there be more DLC of DBZ? A fight against Vegeta-Sasuke dress could be very epic.


M: Initially, we have no plans, so we will not see Sasuke Dragon Ball dress, but withing DLC you can download content that I hope will be pleasing to everyone.

Before reading the information, regarding the presentation of Storm 3, it was forbidden to record anything because they showed parts of the game that are in development. The only pics you can see are the ones Matsuyama is with fans :-(. Also the hack 'n slash was showed without sound.

The sources I selecteced where: Hobbyconsolas.com (its an important videogames magazine here in Spain) and guiltybit (good videogame webpage). Moreover, a friend assisted, so we have his impressions, and he observed things that only fans can take note :P.

HACK N’ SLASH

The fight is Gai Rock Lee and Sakura as support fighting against six of the seven swordsmen of the Mist. The second battle that has seen Kakashi was against the seventh swordsman, Zabuza, Haku and his partner.

The gameplay in this hack ‘n slach mode is almost the same as in regular fighting one on one. We launch support when loaded. Special attacks will grab some attention and the camera closer to get a better view of what is happening on screen.

The grace of the matter is that we can play on both sides of the conflict, we can be the villains or heroes, taking the occasional difference in battle. Not explained much about this aspect. *Yokito Note: I don’t know what are referring to. I believe is to the whole game.

This mode could not be tested, but they told us that it is "still in development". For parts. A video presentation in which we could see the battle, during the Fourth Ninja War, against 6 of the 7 swordsmen of the Mist. Our character: Gay supported by Sakura and Lee. This is a boss battle and, unlike the other deliveries, Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 (look, from now NSUNS3) include 3 different modes of play.

First mode we would fight the swordsmen of 2 on 2, however,

Second mode challenges us to fight the 6 at a time, and this, dear reader is what we watched. Basically a real challenge for those who want to be tested because the poor Gay did nothing but drop you attack in all directions.

The third case is a "secret" Matsuyama although we said we would know some of it very soon. But yes, we were left with honey on the lips.

Gameplay Gai vs Gatana with Lee and Sakura as supports. Few conclusions can be drawn from this gameplay because it is a very early version. The mode is similar to that of Jiraiya against the 3 Pain, the life of the Gatana appeared just above them. I guess that there will be some button to set the character to which you want to attack or directly fixed to the last that you've attacked, because at times the enemy set up to the right was different.

The bad thing of fighting multiple is when you are thrown in the air another can attack you in the air. In conclusion, a priori it looks like the Hack and Slash will be very hard they throw into the air because they do not need to fill any kawarimi bar the enemy. (it’s juts an impression at this is a beta)
The Justsus of gatana I've seen are those of Mangetsu and Jinpachi, Mangetsu throws a huge water boa (bigger than the characters themselves) and Jinpachi crashes his sword into the ground creating between 3 and 5 meters in front of the explosions.

KAKASHI VS ZABUZA:

The good thing was until zabuza life was lower than the half so the cinematics started with pressing buttons, which corresponds when Kakashi wants to end the fight with a Chidori and Haku appeared. Around this time Kakashi through flashbacks recalling his battle years ago, later a flashback in which they fought in the Battle of the Bridge of years ago and there we cut the Gameplay there.

Something interesting was that Kakashi was fighting with the eye uncovered in the fight although in the artwork he had it covered. It may be only a matter of that fight or that the artwork but this is giving us a chance Kakashi with Kamui awake mode.

The other fight we watched was the fight among Kakashi, Zabuza and Haku supported, where we could see the scenes of Quick Time Events (QTE) that occur when you reach a limit damage or a sequence of strokes, which and in the Storm 2 happen. Matsuyama said that there is something called "Final Decision" and becomes something of a special attack at end of combat.

NEW STAGE:

The other thing that could be observed during the gameplay was the stage of Konoha being rebuilding, very well done indeed. It's like the stage we already have of Konoha, with several streets that converge to the place where we fight with the difference that one side of the Stage it is at a different height so you can be launched to it. During gameplay the character is thrown there but then the support appears to send it back to the battlefield.

COSTUMES

The Saiyan version of Naruto has also performed in motion. As you can have an idea, it's just a skin, a suit, so the character has almost the same behavior with all you have. Yes, some small details have caused a furore in the conference, as the position of the hands of the naruto when making a Rasengan, which seemed a Kamehame more than anything else. I: Are going to be selectable jutsus? But no only for sasuke or naruto as always, we are referring to all characters.

M: I can't answer to that question right now. Sorry.

I: Are we going to have long cinematic ougis?

M:We undestand that fans want long cinematic back. In the initial game they were large but then we cut them in following games. Althouth there is not going to be for all characters, some characters will have some attacks with a larger animations that will depend on the time it needs to be completed and spectacular.

I: Are we going to see for new features in versus mode?

M: Yes, we are going to have different kinds of awakenings for characters. One is going to be instantaneous, activated with the second analagic cursor of pad and it will cost the chakra bar. And the other will be like in the previous games. Some characters will see this change in their aspect and other in their commands. For example, Naruto with the bijuu chakra changes his aspect, however kakashi no. Because of that, Kakashi awakened will have some options in the screen for make special attacks (Note yokito: Piroshi uses his hans like using L1 and R1).
Moreover, we have included ring out, we think this would give an added strategy extra in the fights. Also, there is a combat mode that is an improvement of one already presented in Generations.

I: Will be gatana fully playable?

M: At the moment we can see them in the Mosou mode. (Note yokito: I think he is referring to hack n' slash)

Jump magazine says the fight between Choji and the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path is in Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3. This will be a grand production with a giant Demonic Statue and a super-sized Choji.

This may or may not count as new, news. I was looking at all the gameplay that we have gotten so far, and I actually realized that some Ultimate's cost slightly more chakra than others.

I wanted to thank everyone who came at the event held last Saturday for Naruto Storms 3.

Now we will finally be able to give you a playable demo of Naruto Storms 3 on PS3 from tomorrow!
In this demo you'll be able play the "Kyuubi incident" which represents the beginning of the game.
The difficulty level and content of the Battle might partially differ from the full version of the game, but it's still very representative of what you'll get when you'll buy the game. Have fun!

And from tomorrow, the fifth and latest trailer of the game, and the new combat system and Ougis "finish" that got you all concerned, as well as details on the goup/team fighting will also be revealed! A lot of topics that will give you an overview of the game will be discussed.

In addition, the latest information about Naruto Storms 3 were published in the Shounen Jump that just came out today in Japan (the Shounen Jump that leaked last week on the Internet). "HE" will finally participate in the war.

Jason Enos, Senior Global Brand Manager at Namco Bandai Games America, talked to the good people over at TriforcegeekTV and mentioned Naruto Storm 3 will have additional DLC. Mr. Enos doesn’t mentioned what the additional DLC will be, just that it’s planned sometime after the game is released.
