Tobi was able to use the "complete" version of the Izanagi technique in his battle with Konan, and he spoke of how use of the technique requires the ability to use both "Yin" and "Yang" style chakra together. And that is apparently only possible if you have both Senju and Uchiha powers- The power of The Sage of Six Paths, who was the original user of both Yin and Yang chakra.

Tsunade's Yin Seal is that jewel-shaped emblem on her forehead. She stores up chakra into the seal over time, and is able to release it when required. Mito Uzumaki also had a very similar mark on her forehead. (though there is no confirmation if that has any connection to Tsunade's Yin Seal)

Anyway, this was just a thought I had. Tsunade's Yin Seal must use Yin-style chakra, which she should be able to use since she is directly related to Hashirama Senju.

While we don't know anything about Tobi's true relation to either of the Uchiha or Senju bloodlines, or anything about his past, we do have little details to work with.

Here is my theory. Tobi said he has complete control over the Senju powers he claims to have, and he was able to wield two Sharingan. Let's say that Tobi is an Uchiha. That would mean he naturally would have the ability to use one of the two styles -most likely Yang- because the Uchiha are all descendants of the Sage of Six Paths.

Has anyone ever noticed that Tobi bandages his forehead? Maybe he keeps his own Yin Seal covered up. Using the Yin seal, he could store up the Yin-Style chakra he obtained from Hashirama Senju, and being an Uchiha, is able to use the Yang style. This would explain how he is able to use both Yin and Yang chakra together and use the "complete" Izanagi.
