Titanic 3D

Since this just came out in 3D, does anyone else think that this film is extremely overrated?? I mean, it was the highest grossing film ever until Avatar (which wasnt that good either). Don't get me wrong it was a pretty good movie, but not worth the money it made.

If you didn't first see the movie back in 1997 when it was released, then it's no surprise why you don't like it. At the time, the movie was considered groundbreaking to many. You'll never have the same experience as the people did back then.

It's like kids who scowl at old cartoons and call them "dumb" because the animation is lackluster compared to what we have now. People build new standards of comparison, and want to judge everything off of it. It's natural, but something we need to keep in mind.

Sorry if I was unclear. I meant its a good movie, definitely, but i don't think its worth the amount it made. and that was pretty funny btw. I mean, it ranks in my top 20 or so, but not at the top. and I agree with you about the cartoon thing. But the 3D just wasnt really that good, but all movies turned into 3D arent, they have to be made n 3D.

Oh, I see. Yeah I don't see the appeal of viewing the Titanic in 3D. 3D often wrecks color and can make things more displaced than they should be if you're sitting in a particular spot in the theatre.

Buuuuut, I suppose they had to do something for the Titanic's 100th anniversary.

They had to.. Who wouldn't? That's a big sum of cash they could get. Why would they skip an opportunity to get some money. Though, I doubt as many people would go back and rewatch something just because it was in 3D..

there were only like 20 people in the theater i went to see it at, and i saw it on tuesday, so it had been out like a week... thats a fairly good haul a week in on a remake.
^ James Cameron needs no money for the rest of his life with him making the tow highest grossing films of all time (Titanic ironically and Avatar) he is set for the rest of his life, and then some.

Yes, this movie was extremly overrated in it's time. All the stupid girls just kept seeing it over and over again. The fact that no one talks about it anymore, proves it was really just a mediorce movie with a mediorce theme song sung by a mediorce Canadian.

I think Titanic was a great movie, they put us in the perspective of a survivor on the boat, and I think that was pretty awesome. Although, making it into 3D was a horrible choice, there's no point to it. Besides, would you really want to feel like you're on a sinking ship? :lol:
I wouldn't have minded it if they just re-released in theaters for an anniversary thing, but not 3D. Some movies are great in 3D like Resident Evil and Transformers (I didn't see it in 3D, but that would be one hell of an experience).
