Tobi Theory

Idk if this theory has been thrown out there yet but what Kabuto said in chapter 577 is that even if he dies his jutsu will still continue and only he can stop it. Has anyone come to think that Tobi is really the dead body of someone brought back to life but the person who raised him is dead? Just something I randomly just thought about in my head.

That sounds interesting. At this point Tobi could an alien squid from Zuotah who has a grudge against ninjas. But because solving the unsolvable is so much fun I'll add to your thought.
Like why did Tobi start melting during his death match with Minato. His hand nearly fell off and he was all "thats not good" (not real quote just being facetious cause I can't remember). And then again he started "sweating" when Naruto came out with his epic "I've learned a bunch of names crap." (facetiousness again) And las t but not least he said something a while ago in some chapter about being a 'shell' or 'ghost' of his old self.

And while your idea seems a bit farfetched for my taste it might be a clue to solving Tobi.

Wouldn't it be funny if Kishi hasn't even decided who he wants to be Tobi yet. He just goes around forums laughing because people think they know who Tobi is and this whole time Tobi is nobody. I would laugh.

Tobi could just be a clone of some sort of Madara. Kind of like Zetsu or Yamato and the First Hokage. I like the cat theory though. Has substance and purpose, lol. The cat wants vengeance. He used some ninjutsu to get a human body, put a sketchy mask on and goes around going from retarded goofball to diabolical tsuki no mi plotter.

Tobi being an Edo Tensei sounds edgy but then again, a lot of the Tobi theories sound edgy. ~.~ How I wish Kishimoto would reveal who Tobi really is soon enough, :)

You might be on to something here. It does strike me that, seeing as Tobirama Senju came up with Edo Tensei, he had to practice somewhere, right? Follow me.


Tobirama Senju was the younger brother of Hashirama Senju.
Therefore Tobirama, therefore, had to be around from both before and after the founding of Konohagakure.
Its not specified when Tobirama came up with Edo Tensei...but presumably he would have tested the jutsu.
Its therefore plausable (if not outright evident) that Tobi is an Edo Tensei left over from Tobirama Senju. Lets review the facts:

Tobi is familar with the timeline up to and surrounding Madara Uchiha's fight with Hashirama Senju.
He is familiar with the founding of the leaf, going so far as to provide details before the leaf founding with Madara and his brother Izuna. Also included details of Sharingan not privy to most folks.
Tobi's body is able to regenerate; even after having his limbs blown off by several ninjas and being stabbed, probably fatally, by the 4th Hokage. This implies (but does not prove) Tobi could be an Edo Tensei.
Tobi is older than dirt. Either he has one heck of an insurance plan, or he could be an Edo Tensei.
None of these, mind you, shed any light towards Tobi's identity; they merely suggest that he is an Edo Tensei left over from Tobirama Senju. One could even make an arguement that since Hashirama Senju battled Madara alone, but presumably Tobirama was aware to the battlefield, that "Tobi" is an Edo Tensei of Madara made by Tobirama following the battle between the two...

Tobi removed his own arm when he was fighting Danzo's Fodder Squad. It did not regenerate.
