That's the question that everyone asks.
There are a lot of theories.
It hasn't be concluded who Tobi is.
Possibilities : Izuna (Madara's brother), Kagami (member of Tobirama's team), Fugaku (Sasuke's dad), Obito (Kakashi's teammate).

It hasn't been revealed who Tobi is yet, and there are a lot of Theories regarding who he really is. But... I'm tired of guessing, I'll just wait for the time when Tobi's identity is revealed :)

Like everyone has said, no one knows, nor will we know until Kishi is ready to tell us.
I mean we can make assumptions all day long but its not gonna really matter until we see it in the manga/Anime.
He could be a number of different people. Some theories makes more sense than others.
At this point he could be anyone. We'll just never know until Kishimoto is ready to tell us.

We all thought he was Madara, until Madara showed up...However, that said an odd question to ask..the white zetsu was killed, but his clones were still alive correct? and as we saw with the battle between Minato and Tobi, the battle damage, it appeared like something that looked like white zetsu was damaged.
So perhaps Tobi is a Madara woodstyle clone? we know that there were a lot of experiments, and by making him out of the woodstyle Orochimaru would have had the Senju part in him, then add the Sharingan and there we go.That would then explain how his appearance may have fooled so many as well as his connection to Zetsu.

Has anyone considered Tobi to be the eldest son of the sage of six paths, that seems to me the ultimate evil to throw at Naruto ;)

And I am really sure that these threads were banned and there is an official topic for it now. Not sure.
