My Marine was born on Shaboady Archipelago and has currently returned to Marine HQ so currently Grand Line. But it's up to the higher ranks to decide the post for the lower ranks.

I just thought about how I'm going to do the Marine ranks.
You start off as an Ensign or lower. To be promoted you need to gain a currency of some sorts. (Need a name!) The more of that currency you have, you get promoted once you reach a certain number. (Such as you get a box every 50 rep points, and a rep level every 100? Of course the number of that currency would get higher as the ranks increase)

If you start off lower than Ensign, you successfully complete one mission and auto rank to Ensign.
Missions give you the currency. (More depending on how difficult it is?)
