First Q & A Section: January the 15th


Note: Welcome, to our very first Q & A Section! Unfortunately, there will be no chapter out today, due to the writer taking a short break to collect data on the upcoming battle. Anyways, time for this!


Q: Author, what's your favorite character? Mines's Menrui!

A: I actually have several choices. Patty is definitely one of them, along with Leon, as well as Menrui. Add Aquamarine Hallibel to the list as well.

Q: How long will the fic last?

A: From my view point, I say this fic should last about more than 350 chapters, but that's at the very least, seeing how long just Nui Gaiden took, and that was one of my shorter Arcs. So, I say it'll be about 500 or so chapters, more or less.

Q: Where did you get the idea of Miranda Vi Thunderhead, as well as her powers?

A: I had first thought of her creation somewhere in the Invasion of the Kages Arc, and was planning to introduce her exactly as I had now. How I managed to think of her Banpaia Tsume(Vampire Claws) were based off of Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez from the Viz Media show Bleach, created by Tite Kubo.

Q: When will Patty's past be revealed?

A: Just to give a hint or two, Patty's past is connected to both Rose's and Vatas's. His past will be discovered later along the road, but for now, it remains a secret in my head.

Q: How come Nui's background is first explored despite the fact that Vatas is the main character?

A: The answer is actually several reasons. The first reason is was to explain about Senso Ukitaro as well as Sakura, and why she was an antagonist in the present. Another is the introduction of characters that will later appear in the series, such as Hisagi Onimusha, and make a large impact. Also, in the fic's timeline, times are much darker and in secrecy. Revealing Nui's background means that he is the most open character of all of Team Okami. In other words, more secretive characters will keep their backgrounds hidden for now.

Q: When had Patty first became a Pirate?

A: This will be brought up later, but in fact, Patty first became a Pirate approximately five and a half hours before he was made a bomb by New World Pirate Shikiteru D. Garp. In the first half hour and two minutes, he had made a sixteen million Berries of himself, and then set prompt to taking a break by taking a nap for two hours, waking up and then eating meat for the next two hours, and then gambling in the nearby Auction House for the remaining time.

Chapter 80: The Swordsman's True Strength!


Note: I might finish this chapter, I may not. However, it's likely that I will, as long as I don't go too wild with Persona 4. Again. Anyways, I'll post part of this chapter first, and then complete it afterwards, okay? Anyways, let's begin this chapter...! As I predicted, I did not have time to make this chapter and now will make it about Monday afternoon.


Miranda's eyes were on the spot where she had thrown Vatas down. Immediately as Vatas had smashed head-first into the large amount of debris and rubble, the impact had created a large cloud of dust, hiding Vatas from sight. As her smile remained intact, her eyes scanned for signs of Vatas. Eventually, the large cloud of dust passed away, revealing only smashed rubble and debris. I was correct, the boy moved so fast that it created an afterimage with a physical form for a short moment, Miranda thought, as Vatas appeared behind her, his blade unsheathed.

Ittoryu: Nunchaku Sumasshu(One-Sword Style: Nunchunk Smash)! Vatas thought, his left hand gripping his blade. Now carrying only one blade, and the other strapped onto his back, Vatas was in range of attacking Miranda. The blade he was grasping, its silver steel chain went from the hilt, reaching all the way to where the long sickle hung, which was buried in a part of a skyscraper several dozen meters behind Vatas. With the sickle buried within the skyscraper, Vatas swung his blade in an uppercut attack aimed at Miranda's shoulder.
Swiftly reacting to his attack, Miranda, with a sharp flick of her pitch black wings, spun back several dozen meters, lazily evading Vatas's uppercut swing. However, Miranda's eyes narrowed as she saw when Vatas had attacked with his blade, the skyscraper which the sickle had been buried in was pulled along by the forces of gravity, lifting it upwards from the floor. As the WHOLE skyscraper came flying at Miranda, Vatas then quickly took out his other identical blade and then held it in his free hand. With the whole skyscraper aimed at Miranda, she in turn slashed with her claws, as the skyscraper was cut immediately into clean segments. She then quickly slashed again, followed up by another, as the whole skyscraper was reduced to fifteen whole segments. Vatas meanwhile had unlatched his sickle from the destroyed skyscraper, and was now holding his other blade under him. He was rapidly spinning the steel chain of his other sword, spinning it so quickly that it gave him the ability to stay in this altitude.

"You're certainly interesting, dear." Miranda said, licking her fangs.

Meanwhile, on the ground, hidden by a large amount of debris and rubble, the real Vatas sat. Hidden by the rubble and debris, Vatas was kneeling on one knee, his gaze on an unconscious Rose, who laid on the floor beside him. He had sent a clone to fight Miranda to buy time for him to heal Rose of her severe injuries. Having ripped part of his garments up to cover his injuries, Vatas was doing the best he could to try to heal Rose. Managing to have stopped the blood loss, Vatas now covered some of her injuries with his ripped garments.
Quickly unbuttoning his cloak, he the covered Rose with it. Now wearing only a plain red t-shirt, Vatas remained silent as he then slowly stood up. "Sorry, I couldn't hold my breath long enough," Menrui asked. Vatas in return glanced behind him, where Menrui Tatski sat lazily on the ground, leaning on a large piece of rubble. " "Make sure to heal her, alright? If anything happens, it's on your head." Vatas replied, ignoring his last comment as Menrui in reply offered a lazy nod. Now standing up, Vatas then grasped his two identical blades, and closed his eyes. Jinsoku Raikou: First Stage! he thought as Vatas suddenly disappeared from Menrui's view, followed with a static burst of noise.

Menrui sighed. "Geez, he's so overprotective with this girl," Then yawning as his eyes drifted lazily at the unconscious Rose, he then slowly approached her and then sat down beside her. "But I guess I gotta do what he said." Menrui mumbled to himself after another yawn, as he lifted his right hand. Suddenly, the sound of a small fire starting was heard, as a soft glowing light appeared in Menrui's palms. Menrui's eyes glowing with a trait of bright orange, he promptly set to began healing Rose.

"So how long are you going to play hide and seek, dear?" Miranda asked, smiling as Vatas's crashed down onto the ground below her, cut into clean segments. As it struck the floor, it quickly dispersed into a cloud of white smoke.
"We won't have to play that little charade any longer, vampire." Vatas said, standing on the ground below Miranda. Rubble surrounded him from all sides, and there were also a three hundred meter or more gap between the two opponents. "If you say so, dear.." Miranda replied, smiling broadly. "But the question is, how do you plan on attacking me with such distance between us?"

Vatas smiled in reply. "Just watch and see," he murmured. Almost immediately, he set into a stance, his two swords now both horizontally over his left shoulder. The twin blades were on top of each other, with a few centimeters of distance. As Miranda watched in interest, Vatas thought to himself, Nitoryu: Tsuin Kaihou Hou(Two-Sword Style: Twin Circular Cannon). Almost immediately after so, Vatas swung his two blades in a circular motion. As he did, the suppressed energy hiding within the twin identical swords was abruptly released, as it flew out of the two blades and then into the air. As it made contact with the wind, it mixed in with the air, further enhancing its destructive capacity.
Overcoming a distance of over three hundred meters in less than a second, the two air-and-chakra-compressed projectiles smashed into Miranda, who seemed to suddenly move in a blur as it came into physical contact with her. Miranda's figure than came into view again; now in flight about fifty meters where she once was. The two compressed projectiles had in fact missed her, and where now flying towards the skyscraper behind the skyscraper that Vatas's clone had used earlier against Miranda.
With overwhelming speed, the two projectiles smashed into the skyscraper, and then beyond it, smashing into the other skyscraper. However, it didn't stop there, smashing through the second skyscraper and into another. Finally, after smashing itself into the third skyscraper, it finally wore out, and was subdued by the third skyscraper. In response, all three large skyscrapers began to crumble under the heavy toll of damage brought by Vatas's attacks, and then began to crackle into rubble.
As the debris rained down behind Miranda, she in turn glanced at Vatas, now intrigued as ever. That surprised me...I didn't expect an attack of over Mach 60.. she thought, beginning to calculate her newly gained information. Vatas in turn stood his ground beneath her, grasping his two swords in his hands. Dammit, that didn't get her... he thought. As the two combatants remained silent, both in deep thought, Vatas then glanced behind him. Thirty or so hundred meters away was where Menrui and Rose were.
Then sighing in frustration, he then glanced at his opponent and then closed his eyes. Jinsoku Raikou: First Stage! he thought, as he suddenly disappeared, followed with a static bang behind him. Vatas then reappeared, on a skyscraper created out of stone. the skyscraper was to the right of Miranda, a gap of fifty to seventy meters. Using his chakra to remain latched onto the wall, Vatas then formed a handsign. "Earth Release: Earth Wall!" Putting his hand on the rough stone skyscraper, Vatas remained silent and calm as he watched the earthy rough part where he had placed his hand gently on began to move. A ledge starting to form, it soon converted into a long wall of earth, being have been made from the stone skyscraper.
As Miranda glanced at him, her smile intact, he in turn gazed at her. Gripping his twin blades, Vatas said calmly, "You seem fairly strong, so I'll show you something."
Miranda's smile seemed to broaden. "It would be a pleasure to see your secret, dear." she said. Vatas in reply did not speak. Instead, he brought his hand to his right eye, where it was pitch black. His right eye also had a long red scar on it, glowing eerily in the glow of the Moon above him. Then closing his right eye, Vatas attempted a weak smile. "I promise you, you won't like it."

Chapter Eighty-One: Speak of the Devil


Note: I'll probably finish this chapter today. but there is a slight, very slight chance that I won't be able to. Just a heads-up, folks! In recent news, demand of the Q & A Section once again comes up, as people are demanding for it once again. I'll try to post a new one in a couple of weeks or so, probably less or more, it depends. Now, for the next chapter...! Oh, by the way, I re-edited the previous chapter due to some mistakes.


Kuro Renzu: Renzu da la Akuma(Black Lens: Lens of the Devil)! Vatas thought. Almost immediately afterwards, Vatas then promptly brought his hand down, unveiling his closed eye. His eye's bright red scar now glowed in the looming darkness of the pitch black sky surrounding him. However, that wasn't the only difference. Before Vatas's closed eye were one lone lens, half a pair of lenses. The lens was large, with the glass color dark red. Two wings were placed on the upper section of the lens, one on the left side and the other on the right. The small wing on the left was a feathery, angelic, white wing while the one on the right was a dark, demonic one, resembling a bat's.
Meanwhile, Miranda, flew in midair about sixty or so to the right of him, smiling broadly. Glancing at Vatas, she promptly licked her fangs, which shimmered in the glow of the Moon. Vatas in reply remained silent, as he then slowly opened his eye, unveiling an eye with absolutely no pupil and pitch black. Black Shades, Lens of the Devil, Sopra! Vatas thought, as he fully opened his eyes.
"You have an intriguing power, dear." Miranda commented, her fangs now exposed. "You think so?" Vatas asked, attempting a weak smile as the lens above his right eye continued to stay afloat, somehow floating just over his eye. "I say it's a curse." Vatas finished as he then set into an offensive stance.
Immediately after setting into the stance, he then promptly stabbed one of his swords onto the stone foothold. With now wielding one blade, and the other latched properly onto the stone foothold. "Ittoryu: Chirashi Kaze Tsuppari(One-Sword Style: Scattering Wind Thrust)," Vatas whispered to himself, stating the technique he was about to use. As Miranda remained completely still, still intrigued by the approaching-adulthood boy, Vatas in turn grasped his lone blade with both his two hands. Gripping it, he set it back, bringing it to shoulder height. As Vatas did so, the chain in return flew back, as the sickle promptly smashed into the stone skyscraper behind him, burying itself in it and thus latching itself into it.
Possible Scenarios: Three, Vatas calculated, the eye with the lens darting around Miranda as it searched for a possible weakness. As Miranda remained silent, Vatas then finally made his turn, as he unleashed an attack. Thrusting the blade forward at the air, Vatas did so. However, after only doing so once, he halted, glancing at Miranda. With a weak smile on his face, Vatas then watched as Miranda then heard the sword of a bird chirping around her. She promptly flew away to the left a few meters, as the glass skyscraper behind her suddenly crumbled from an invisible attack. What in the world? Miranda asked, scanning for the next attack.
Chirashi Kaze Tsuppari(Scattering Wind Thrust) allows for me to unleash an invisible projectile made of wind. The projectile also releases the small sound of a bird chirping as it closes in onto its target. The technique doesn't require chakra, because it, like many other sword techniques, are based on your swordsmanship skills..... Vatas thought, However...

Miranda too remained silent, as she then heard another chirp near her. Immediately on reaction, she deduced where the sound had came from and quickly flew down, as another skyscraper behind her, another one created of glass, suddenly crumbled. ...Even though it had appeared like just one thrust, I had in fact used it more than once.
Miranda, meanwhile, flew in the air, silent, listening for a hint of an incoming attack. The only sound was the flapping of her pitch black wings. However, Miranda's eyes narrowed as she then heard the sound of a bird chirping. Deducing the source of it, she immediately realized where it was coming from. I'm surrounded! she thought as the six invisible projectiles flew at her, all surrounding her, leaving no opening open. Now! Vatas thought as he watched silently, somehow seeing the invisible air thrusts he had created. Promptly grabbing his other identical sword out of its latch with his free hand, Vatas then grasped the hilt of his other sword. With the sickle of that sword properly latched onto the stone skyscraper behind him, Vatas then jumped down from his stone foothold, about three hundred meters or more beneath him a wrecked ground of rubble and debris. However, as he began to lose altitude, Vatas then immediately took the sword that wasn't partially latched onto the skyscraper. Holding the sword under him, Vatas then began to spin it rapidly.
In conjunction, the silver steel chain that connected from the hilt of the unlatched blade began to spin in return. Suddenly, Vatas's decrease in altitude suddenly ceased, as Vatas remained still in placed while rapidly spinning his unlatched blade. Lost Time: 1.00000002 seconds, Vatas once again calculated as he then glanced at Miranda. Ittoryu: Nunchaku Sumasshu(One-Sword Style: Nunchunk Smash), Vatas thought as he began to swung his partially latched sword in an uppercut manner, aimed at Miranda. Meanwhile, Miranda was currently surrounded by the invisible air projectiles. As they had approached her, she had thought, Banpaia Tsume(Vampire Claws) Technique: Aerial Roundabout Fang!
Immediately as those words emerged in her mind, Miranda quickly lashed around, her pair of claws alert. She then suddenly spun in a full circle as all six invisible air projectiles made contact with her. As she spun around in a full circle several times, all six unseen projectiles were sliced up, reverting back to a simple weak gust of wind. As soon as Miranda had done so, she ceased in spinning, now returning back to her usual position.

However, as soon as Miranda had finished so she suddenly saw a huge gapping shadow over her. Glancing upwards, her eyes narrowed as she saw Vatas several dozen meters above her, maintaining flight by rapidly spinning his free blade, along with its silver steel chain. In his other hand was his other identical blade, in which a steel silver chain emerged from its hilt as well. Leading from the silver steel chain was a large silver sickle, latched onto a skyscraper. However, the skyscraper had been removed from its position and was now falling towards Miranda, its shadow overlapping her by far.
There was no time for a counterattack or to evade: in less than a nanosecond, the large skyscraper made contact with Miranda, as Vatas swung his latched blade in downwards: in reply, the skyscraper smashed downwards, towards the wreckage of rubble and debris, along with a crushed Miranda Vi Thunderhead..

Chapter Eighty-Two: Speak of the Devil 2

Note: As same with the other chapter, there will be a chance that I won't be able to warp this up today, due to reality as well as school. First of all is sorry, and lastly, let's start this chapter....!


In the dark looming skies of the Crossroads, Vatas remained in the sky. Keeping his altitude in the air by rapidly revolving his second identical sword under him in a spiral, along with its silver steel chain which managed to keep the boy afloat. The winds had come to a sudden still; everything was silent, with the exception of the crumbling pieces of the skyscraper that unlatched itself from its main body and crashed into the rubble-filled floor, dispersing into smaller pieces of rubble
As Vatas's eyes darted repeatedly around the ruins, he remained alert. All of sudden, Vatas immediately lashed around behind him, his first sword ready to guard. As he spun around, he immediately spun around his sword in a full circle, and caught it by the handle. With the blade of the sword now in reverse, facing behind him, Vatas brought the sword up in a full uppercut guard, as the sound of weapons clattering one another was scattered around him.
Vatas's eyes met Miranda's pitch black and bloody red, as the two stood in deadlock. Vatas's blade was in an uppercut-style guard, clashed steadily against Miranda's Banpaia Tsume(Vampire Claws). "How did you know where I was, dear?" Miranda asked in a smile, exposing her pointy fangs. Vatas remained silent, concentrating on continuing to block her attack, as Miranda smiled more broadly. "It has something to do with that eye of yours, am I right, dear? And the lens as well." Miranda then quickly deduced, her eyes drawing near Vatas's right eye and the lens floating before it in interest.
"You got that pretty fast," Vatas murmured quietly, now having trouble against guarding against Miranda's weapon. "But more on the matter, I have a question for you."

Miranda's eyes suddenly seemed to lit up, as she said nothing, waiting for Vatas to say further more. "This feels strange, I'm guessing this is a Genjutsu. Well, am I wrong?"
Miranda's eyes suddenly darkened, as they narrowed. "So, you figured it out, dear," she commented. "Looks like my playtime's over, unfortunately."
Vatas said nothing, as Miranda then suddenly flew back, breaking the deadlock. With now a large gap of over sixty meters behind them, Vatas then glanced at her. I was right, I am trapped in an illusion. Along with Rose and Menrui too. This is an illusion alright, but it doesn't feel like a normal one... Vatas calculated, focusing on Miranda.
....I got it! This technique, the Genkaku Yochi(Illusionist's World) is clearly isn't a normal Genjutsu. From what I got, the vampire releases a strange scent of smell around her when she reverts more into her vampire form. This explains the strange smell Menrui and I smelt back then, Vatas quickly deducted, as he remained silent, continuing to focus. It places whoever smells it into, in the most basic of terms, a false world, where reality doesn't exist. From what I've gotten from the vampire's mind, the user of this illusion technique controls this illusion world......

After so, Vatas's eyes immediately narrowed, as he then grasped his first blade while continuing to rapidly spin his other blade to maintain flight. "I'm surprised that you managed to figure it out, dear, judging from your look," Miranda said sweetly, yet her eyes were still darkened. "But to help you, this isn't a simple Genjutsu. In other words, you can't break out of it by normal means."
Vatas said nothing, his teeth gritted. "But I am curious, dear, of how you managed to solve the abilities of my Genkaku Yochi(Illusionist's World), as well as that you have a Flame protecting your blades, especially one with the Fifth Machiavelli Familglia Boss's."

"'Fifth Machiavelli Famiglia Boss?'" Vatas questioned, curious yet confused.

Several hundreds meter afar, about four hundred or so, Menrui sat on a large piece of debris, leaning against a large piece of stone that stood. Beside him laid the unconscious Rose Raiku, now completely healed and wrapped warmly in Vatas's cloak. Above them, a few hundred meters away and about three hundred and a half meters above from the ground were the two opponents, Miranda and Vatas. Menrui's eyes half-opened, he then glanced at Rose with a look of worry. "Dammit, she lost quite a lot of blood, more than five liters." Menrui commented, sighing. "It was a good thing Vatas managed to get to her before the girl died of blood loss."
Menrui then yawned, now sleepy. As his now-droopy eyes left Rose and her unconscious body, he then glanced down. Slowly reaching towards his now-stained pants, he then went into its pockets, his hand searching for an item of some sort. As he did so, he yawned once again. Then, his hands pulled out from the pockets, revealing a lighter created out of steel. The lighter was designed smoothly and was sleek, the center of it having an emblem of two rifles intersecting each other, creating a "X" mark. Between the two rifles was a longsword which crossed down between the two rifles.
As he did so, Menrui then attempted a weak smile, as he reached in his other pocket, pulling out a cigar. "It's been a while since I last had a smoke.." he murmured to himself, as he then leisurely set the cigar with his lighter.

Lazily, Menrui Tatski then slowly slid the lit cigar into his mouth. Stopping it just at the correct angle, Menrui then glanced at the soft tiny light. Yawning once again, he then slowly glanced up at Vatas and Miranda, who were both in midair. Taking a few seconds to glance at his comrade, Menrui then moved his eyes to the emblem on the sleek steel lighter.

That emblem was the mark of the Machiavelli Famiglia.

Note: Well, here you go, the next chapter. Like I said earlier, I may not finish it today; it not, I'll wrap it up tomorrow. Just that, not really any other news. Anyways, let's begin this chapter...!!

"Who's this 'Fifth Machiavelli Famiglia Boss?'" Vatas immediately questioned, intrigued. Miranda in return said nothing, smiling broadly. "How about you answer my question first, dear?" she commented, ignoring his previous question. Vatas said nothing, as he then promptly set into an offensive stance.

"Sorry, vampire, but I don't play by your games." Vatas then commented, his eyes narrowed as he immediately sped forward at Miranda, his blade ready to strike.

Meanwhile, several dozen of thousand kilometers away from the Crossroads, an island laid in the raging vast blue seas. It had similarities to other islands, yet also had a distinctive difference: that island was also connected to two other islands, together making up a triangle. The bridges connecting the three islands weren't man-made, they were however created entirely out of earth that had been created a magma shower that too had created the three islands.
Another feature that the three islands had was that each island had a completely different climate temperature. The first island at the top was a cold temperature where snow would fall daily, along with some occasional harmless hail. The second island, the one at the bottom left of the island had a hot sunny climate, where a desert sat. And the last island, an island filled to the brick by amazon-style trees, had a tropical climate which rained nearly everyday.

The three islands, each connected, was known as the Tri-Cornerstone, a tourist attraction of both the regular variety as well as the more violent type, known otherwise as pirates. That was why this was also a hotspot for Marine forces and bounty forces alike.

As both tourists and inhabitants of the Tri-Cornerstone islands slowly drifted onto their hotel room beds and houses, the lights around the three islands began to dim, eventually shutting into pure darkness. The three islands was now in a pure slumber, as a harmony of snores emerged one after another.
However, the whole Tri-Cornerstone wasn't at rest. For in the top island which made the triangle, two figures stirred. As the two stood alone in a middle of a field filled with falling snow, they remained alerted, their eyes on one another. Snow drifted around them, as the temperature dampened from the loss of sunlight. Around the two figures were a set of large mountains, all rocky yet covered almost entirely by snow and ice.
"Yo, you got what I needed?" Patty Nero Bianchi asked, chilly. He was now dressed in a white fur coat with a hood, as well as pitch black pants. Underneath his white fur coat was a black tuxedo, accompanied with a loose white tie. As Patty glanced at his visitor in question, his curly, messy, light brown hair was visible in the heavy snow, which accompanied with his hazel eyes.
"Yup, dude." the other figure then replied, taking a step towards Patty. As he took a step forward, his features were revealed: he wore a black snow jacket which reached down to his ankles, where brown mountain boots were visible. However, his most distinctive feature was the large afro on his head. The young man wore snow goggles that covered his azure eyes, as well as weak smile. The young man had light brown skin.
"I got what you needed, dude." the young man murmured again, unveiling a large taped box in his gloved hands. Patty then smiled. "Good, Smithy." he muttered as the young man then grimaced in frustration. "I told you, dude, my name is Smith Y. Monevilla." Patty in return said, "It's all good, broski." and then promptly took the cardboard box from Smith.
"By the way, I heard your bounty increased." Smith mumbled, as Patty offered a curious look. "I hear it's ninety-nine million Beli now." Patty then groaned, as Smith glanced at him. "What's wrong?" Smith asked, as Patty then sighed.

"I was hoping my bounty would finally hit the hundred millions." Patty complained, saddened as Smith chuckled beneath his breath. Patty in reply then sighed. "Oh well..." he grumbled under his breath.

Chapter Eighty-Four: Abandoned Orphan


Note: If I don't have any homework tomorrow, which isn't fat chance that I won't, I can likely do a chapter for that day as well. Just saying; also, for those who hadn't realized, this will be the first chapter of the Turn Back the Pendulum Mini-Arc, which will cover the pasts of more than one character. Now, time for the new chapter...!


Twenty-Nine Years Previously

Almost three decades ago, years after the Great Invasion, a couple had birth to a baby in the poverty-filled Cami Islands, in the majestic Taka Seas. The baby was birthed on the back of a large car, the two were simply horrified at the sight of the nude baby.
Sickened, the couple threw the baby out; however they also pitied for the baby. Covering it with a large blanket created out of rags and setting it in a worn-out basket, the two then gave the infant a scrap of food. Setting the recently-born infant quickly in a dark alley under the cover of night, they quickly fled the scene, abandoning their baby, now an orphan, behind. Fortunately, as the couple left the scene, someone quickly arrived later. An hour or so later, an elderly woman tramped by. She had a stingy mean face, accompanied by brunette hair tied into a bun and more wrinkles then the number of fingers you have. Strict dark bole eyes stared at the young orphan wrapped in his blanket and in the old basket. The old woman wore a long-sleeved shirt along with simplistic clothes for old ladies.
Gazing steadily at the baby, she said, "You poor child," with a hint of deep sarcasm as well as amusement in her voice. Seemingly grinning wickedly in a way, the old woman slowly crouched down onto one knee. She then quickly put her hands on the cradle and lifted it. Carrying it roughly in her arms, the old lady then looked at the small infant. Her name was Kat Narita.

With a sharp glance at the alleyway, the old woman then existed the alley, carrying the asleep baby in her arms.

Seven and a half years has passed since then. The elderly woman had in fact been a caretaker for the local orphanage of the Cami Islands, and also had delivered the baby onto the arms of the orphanage. That particular infant was now six and a half years old.

"Y' know, I could do some more food." the older boy complained as he sat on his simple small bed, sighing in frustration. The older boy had messy, short, light blue hair, accompanied with dark tan skin and light gray eyes. He wore a worn-out gray shirt that had been passed on and on, from children to children. Under his worn-out shirt was a set of poorly-sewed pants that had likely been ripped before, but was sewed back.
"I'm pretty sure you can survive the night, Hari. Besides, we just had dinner, broski." the younger boy replied lazily, too sitting on a similar small bed. He too wore an identical outfit of the older boy named Hari. However, the younger boy instead had messy dark brown hair, along with eyes of varying colors. The two boys were in a small cell-shaped room, surrounded by walls where the paint had already peeled off. The cell-like room was occupied by several small beds; the two boys were alone.
"You know I can't, Pat. Besides, three green peas, a strawberry, and less than one-twelfth of a fried chicken leg isn't a dinner." the older boy named Hari Jackson replied, as a complaining growl from his belly then emerged. In reply, the younger boy named Pat then sighed in frustration. "Ugh, fine, here..!" he muttered, his hands searching for something in his pants' pockets. Quickly reaching out his hands from his pockets, Pat then revealed a large object, hidden by a napkin. As Hari glanced at the object in interest, Pat meanwhile was slowly unwrapping the napkin. After unwrapping the napkin and then setting it aside, Pat held up what looked like a whole fried chicken leg. "I stashed this during dinner from the kitchen."

Hari meanwhile was drooling without even noticing. As a strange glimpse in his eyes glowed at the sight of the fried chicken leg, Pat sighed and then set the chicken leg on the napkin. Slowly breaking it apart with his hands, Pat then held up one half of the fried chicken leg and then tossed it at Hari, who almost immediately caught it in return and immediately began eating it. Pat meanwhile began wiping the grease from the fried chicken leg with his napkin. He then lifted the half of his fried chicken leg to his mouth's height and then slowly began to bite it.
As Pat reached in for the first bite, he could taste the greasy aroma coming off from the fried chicken leg. As his eyes remained half opened, he then brought the fried chicken leg to his mouth.

Just as his teeth touched the chicken leg, Pat suddenly saw it whip away in a flash, replaced with the air. Surprised, he then glanced upwards, as he found himself glancing at an elderly lady.

"Well, well, look what we have." the old woman said, smiling in a dark fashion.

Note: If I'm not too lazy, expect this chapter to be released fully by sometime tonight. However, if I am lazy, as I normally am, then this chapter should be finished either late late tonight, or tomorrow afternoon. Just a heads-up, folks. On a side-note, for people who hasn't realized it yet, Pat is Patty. Seriously, I had questions about who in the world Pat is. Anyways...!



"I knew that it was you...!" the old woman murmured to herself pleasantly, also known as Kat gazed down at the young Pat, who remained silent, seemingly glaring at her. Meanwhile, Ms.Kat's grin was broad, as if she was pleased to find Pat and Hari in trouble. As for Hari, he too remained silent, but he was fuming angrily silently. His half of Pat's fried chicken leg had been confiscated as well; however, he had managed to devour over than half of it before it was taken by the old woman.
"What do you have to say, brat?" Kat asked amusingly, her smile now disappeared although remnants remained. Pat in return shrugged. "I think...that you're a fat old lady who had no life besides for messing with adorable orphans. Also, a skunk smells better than you." As he said so, Hari, who was behind Ms.Kat, broke into a case of snicker. However, before the old woman could notice, Hari quickly stopped altogether, and then continued to steadily glare at Ms.Kat, who seemed oblivious to this fact.
Ms.Kat however, had clearly heard Pat's comment. As an expression of anger appeared on her face, Ms.Kat's hand almost immediately lashed towards at Pat. Immediately, her hand latched onto Pat's neck collar shirt, as a strange gleam glowed in her eyes. Managing to suppress a portion of her large anger, Ms.Kat gazed at Pat, who said nothing.
Ms.Kat then slowly whispered to Pat, "Listen here, you damn brat. You should be happy to have a roof over your head and foods to eat. If you were living in those damn streets down there--" The old woman then made a sharp gesture towards the unseen streets below. "--This will happen to you."
Pat then said nothing, as Ms.Kat's grip on the young boy tightened. With a sharp pull, Pat was pulled towards the old woman, whom's face was unveiling her unleashed anger. As Ms.Kat said nothing, she immediately pulled out a small knife from her pocket.
Pat's eyes widened, as his eyes glanced at the small knife in Ms.Kat's scaly-like hands. Hari meanwhile had too noticed the strange gleam of the object that Ms.Kat was holding, which bounced off from the dim light-bulb above. Now alert, he said nothing, as Hari crouched on his bed, prepared. Pat meanwhile, was paralyzed in fear. As Ms.Kat's expression abruptly changed into a broad smile for some dark reason, the knife she was grasping slowly began to move towards Pat.
Hari meanwhile was ready to pounce. However, both actions were dispelled by one single action. Now, there were four persons in the room. The fourth person had somehow appeared in the center of the scene from nowhere. Wearing a sleek black raincoat which reached down to his lower knees with the hood pulled back, along with black boots, the figure was somewhat tall. Standing with his back facing the surprised Hari, the figure's left gloved hand was steadily grasping on Kat's hand, which held the small kitchen knife. As Ms.Kat seemingly tried to shake the figure's hand off hers, her experession drastically converted into one of caution.
Reluctantly, her grip on the kitchen knife loosened, as the knife dropped, plummeting to the wooden floor below. It landed perfectly, burying itself. Meanwhile, Ms.Kat's expression quickly changed again, as she slowly turned around to face the figure holding her steadily. "Now, now, Ms.Kat." the figure then said within earshot of Ms.Kat and Pat. He had fair skin, along with somewhat spiky long red hair which reached past shoulder length. Calm azure mist eyes glanced at both Pat and Ms.Kat.

"The higher-ups, or more precisely, 'HE', wouldn't like it if you somehow injured one of our many experiments-- I mean adorable children, would 'HE'?" the man in the raincoat then said again, as it suggesting a subtle warning as well as putting a heavy emphasis on the word "He".
Pat said nothing, still paralyzed from the shock of almost getting stabbed by the old lady; meanwhile, Ms.Kat's expression was one of a mixture of caution and horror at the man's words. "I apologize, Mr.Jonathan. But these 'adorable' brats--I mean children, had defied rules." she replied after a brief moment of silent. Meanwhile, the man in the raincoat, referred to as Mr.Jonathan attempted a weak smile. "I see," he murmured, his eyes watching the silent Pat.
"I suggest you leave the punishments to me, Ms.Kat." Mr.Jonathan said with a hint of coldness in his voice. Meanwhile, Ms.Kat said nothing, her face suddenly having been drained of all its color. Now pale, she simply nodded and then left the room. As she did, the clanks of her shoes echoed across the hall, as Mr.Jonathan's eyes steadily scanned her leaving.
Meanwhile, Hari had sighed in relief. Now in a resting position, his stomach continued to growl. Mr.Jonathan then glanced at Hari sharply and then began to unzip his raincoat. Fully unzipping it, he then took out a slice of freshly baked bread and tossed it to Hari, who's expression quickly turned positive at the sight of food. Meanwhile, Pat remained silent, his face somewhat pale.

"Here, have a bite," Mr.Jonathan then suggested, holding another slice of warm, freshly-baked bread under Pat's face. Pat could smell the warm aroma of the bread, as the smell of butter slowly penetrated him. "It'll help you. Mr.Jonathan then further suggested, as the buttery aroma overwhelmed Pat. Quickly, he took the slice of bread from Mr.Jonathan's hands and began to devour it. As he did, a burp emerged behind him, signalling of Hari's slumber beginning to start.
"Uhh...thank you, Mr.Jona.." Pat mumbled as he took bites from the slice of fresh bread.

"Allen Dante Jonathan, at your service." Mr.Jonathan then replied, a smile on his face.

Chapter Eighty-Six: Life in the Orphanage


Note: I might NOT finish this chapter today. If not, then tomorrow. Also, I'm getting busier, so they'll be less chapters made weekly, of course. Sorry, it's a drag and everything, but deal with it. Or else. xD Anyways, here's this chapter...!


Life in the local orphanage of Cami Island wasn't that bad. Then again, it wasn't much pleasant either. Built upon the outskirts of Cami Island's city, the orphanage was a large rusted building with stale features. The large building's outer as well as inner walls had been painted perhaps decades ago, the remnants of the paint now steadily peeling off its walls. Other features of the rusted building included an accessible rooftop; the large building was made up of five stories, with the second story being the orphans' floor.
"So, what now?" Hari asked, his eyes scanning the cloudy blue skies above him. Dressed in the same clothes as as yesterday, Hari's eyes remained half-opened, if not droopy. Meanwhile, Pat sat next to him, too doing the same thing. He too was in his same attires as as yesterday. "I guess we do the same thing as we normally do," Pat replied lazily, offering a slight shrug with his shoulders.
The two friends were on the orphanage's rooftop; the rooftop's feature was a dusty floor, along with a large wooden door that was hinged onto the floor. As the two orphans sat on the dusty ground, they lazily watched the blue skies, where the white clouds slowly drifted. Then, Hari's stomach suddenly growled, complaining. Hari glanced down at his stomach and then sighed in hunger. Pat meanwhile reached inside his pants' pockets. Then pulling out an object wrapped in a clean napkin. Slowly unwrapping the napkin, he revealed two hot dogs. The twin hot dogs were somewhat-cold though were still fresh, as it just recently made. As Hari glanced at the two hot dogs, Pat meanwhile took one hot dog. Promptly tossing it at Hari, who caught it with fumbling hands, Pat in turn then took out a few packets of various sauces. Tossing a few random at Hari, who caught all of them with one hand, Pat then took out a packet of ketchup. Unsealing the packet with his teeth, Pat then spread the ketchup sauce onto his hot dog, his lazy eyes glancing on his meal.
Meanwhile, Hari had already eaten his hot dog, the napkin already in his hands. As he wiped his hands with it, Pat then took a large bite out of his hot dog, devouring a large part of it. After swallowing his first bite, Pat then continued to glance at the sky as Hari then let out a burp. "So, broski, where did you get these?" he asked curiously.
"Dante," Pat replied quickly, as he then took another bite of his hot dog. "He gave them to me this morning." In reply, Hari nodded, returning his glance onto the blue skies. The two remained silent, as Pat took a few bites from his hot dog. After a few minutes, Pat had already eaten his hot dog; the two now sat on the dusty floor, loitering lazily as their gaze remained fixed on the drifting skies. Finally, the two slowly went onto their feet, as the skies slowly began to turn red, signalling of the departure into nightfall.
"I guess we should head back, or they'll notice." Hari then suggested, as Pat nodded. The two casually drifted onto the door, as Pat then slowly reached his hands onto the doorknob. Twisting the golden doorknob, Pat then pulled the door, revealing a staircase that ventured down below.
"I'll go first," Pat then said, as he slowly moved down, towards the staircase. Ducking to avoid hitting the ceiling, Pat and Hari moved down the staircase, as Hari promptly closed the door to the rooftop.

As the two ventured down the long staircase, a brief silence reached between the two. After a couple of minutes, the silence was lifted, as Pat then stopped. "What time is it?" he asked to Hari, who offered a simple shrug. With both Pat and Hari halted, Pat's hand was on a particular part of the walls surrounding the staircase, while Hari's foot stepped heavily on a section of the stair. With those two stopping for a brief period of time, the two were about to once again move, as all of a sudden, a large shuffling noise was heard.
Once again stopping in their tracks, both Pat and Hari offered strange glances, as the shuffling sound echoed dimly. The two then glanced into the wall facing the right of them, which was slowly descending open. As a part of that wall began to shift to the right, both remained silent. Eventually, the shuffling noise ended, and the two friends found themselves gazing at a large black hole. The large gapping hole was large enough for a full-grown man to enter, about the size of a door. Beyond the gapping hole was total darkness. As Hari and Pat exchanged glances, Pat then murmured, "This is a surprise." "Let's go in," Hari then suggested, curious. Unfortunately, Pat too was intrigued, as he offered a simple nod. First entering the large gapping hole, Pat moved in the darkness, his hands against the wall as support. Hari meanwhile was behind him.

"This is so cliche," Hari complained.

Chapter Eighty-Seven: Discovery of a Secret


Note: Third chapter of this Mini-Arc, folks! =] Just a heads-up. Anyways, I'll be taking a couple of days off to capture some data for the future chapters. Anyways, here we go, to the this chapter..!


"Shush..!" Pat whispered, cautious. Hari in return grunted. The two were in a dark gapping hole, where they had the space to move. Their hands were touching the two walls surrounding them as support and to help make their way through the total darkness.
Through the support of the two walls, the two friends knew that their was only two directions: one was back to the staircase, which had been already closed when they entered, shutting them in. The other as well as only possible direction was forward. As the two continued moving, the only noise heard was the sound of their breathing. Despite the seemingly closed space, oxygen did not run out, and their breathing remained the same. The only other noise was the continuing shuffling sound, as if the very earth underneath them was continuously shifting at a steady pace.
Meanwhile, Pat and Hari continued moving. As their feet shifted towards, they continued treading along. Finally, they reached the end of the dark tunnel. "Is this the end?" Hari asked, still curious. Pat offered a casual shrug in reply. Taking one of his hands off the wall, Pat then set his hand in front of him, to find it pressed against what seemed like another wall.
"It seems so, broski." Pat murmured within earshot, as his hand began to move while remaining pressed against the wall. As Hari said nothing, Pat's hand continued to move.
"C'mon, Pat, let's go back." Hari soon suggested, as Pat's hand slowly ceased on a certain section of the wall. Slowly, Pat then nodded, as his hand remained on the particular part of the wall. "Alright, Hari." Pat then replied, as he began to turn, his hand still on that section of the wall. However, just as like that other time, when Hari and Pat had accidentally opened the secret doorway to this tunnel, this was of the same occurring. With Pat's hand slowly withdrawing, it had however been on the secret panel on the wall for too long, thus causing for the door behind them to began to open. As Pat turned around, facing Hari, who too was beginning to turn, the young boy then suddenly ceased.
"Hari?" Pat asked, as Hari said nothing, seemingly looking at something beyond Pat, his eyes wide with a mixture of curiosity and astonishment. Meanwhile, Pat then suddenly realized that he could see Hari. A few seconds ago, he couldn't have been able to do to the loss of any light source. But now, he could clearly see his best friend.
Glancing downwards, Pat could see a glowing blue light. Almost immediately, he spun around, to face a blue light that almost blinded him.

"Hey, broski, remember what you said when we found this tunnel?" Pat asked. Hari meanwhile offered a shrug, which could have been counted as a nod. "Yeah, this IS cliche." he murmured, as Pat and Hari found themselves in a large room, where the glowing blue light shone upon them.

Chapter Eighty-Eight: When Things Start to Go Bad


Note: Sorry for the wait, but this chapter is now here...! There is a zero percent chance that I won't be finishing this chapter, just you know. Also, this is also the first chapter when things start to go "interesting", indeed. Also, for other news, the second interview will began after the Turn Back the Pendulum Mini-Arc, more or less. Anyways, it's now time for this chapter...!


Hari offered a grunt. Meanwhile, Pat said nothing, oblivious to Hari's grunt. His eyes were widened as his recent discovery; the blue lights above him shone on Pat and Hari, nearly blinding them. Slowly but silently, an intrigued Pat quietly approached the room beyond him. Meanwhile, Hari followed suit, too curious.
The room beyond them was seemingly high-tech; the large room was composed of several dozen tables. On each of the tables were an array of technologies and sciences, ranging from computers, to scientific vials that contained strange substances and liquids of varying colors, to several row-by-row tables that were set to several firearms of and rounds of bullets that beside the many types of guns. On all five walls of the room, several large plasma widescreen televisions were latched onto the wall.

"This definitely isn't your average orphanage home." Hari commented to himself, as Pat nodded in return. As the two slowly halted, now in the center of the room, they glanced around them, eying all the various items around them. After a few glances here and there, Pat and Hari slowly approached the set of long tables east of them, where various firearms and other weapons laid. "I agree," Pat then slowly replied to Hari, as he picked up a sleek black shotgun. The shotgun seemed new and was surprisingly heavy as normal shotguns.
Hari then glanced at the shotgun that Pat was holding with interest. "A Blackly Nex Shotgun. It's bullet caliber is .345. Bullet speed is 2,002.45 meters per second." Hari then observed after a glance, as Pat offered a glance. "When did you became a firearms' expert?" he questioned curiously. In return, Hari then offered Pat a strange smile.
"Let's just say, I just know." he said with a silver gleam in his eyes. Pat in return said nothing, as he was now interested in another weapon. Picking up a pitch black pistol, he then glanced at Hari, who immediately understood. "Yex Nightly Pistol, bullet caliber .234. Speed movement is 3,450.56 meters per second." Hari soon calculated, as Pat then nodded.
Soon setting the pistol down along with the shotgun, he and Hari then turned to the large television mounted on the wall in front of them. "What do think is this?" Hari asked, as Pat shrugged. However, just as they turned to face the television directly, a strange invisible mechanic snapped on. As if this mechanic had been pre-set before, this mechanic snapped to a start, as a abrupt white glow in the television instantly appeared, to Hari's and Pat's surprise.
Stopping in their tracks, a large echo then appeared around them, coming from an unknown source. "Welcome to the Cami Island Branch Headquarters of the Black Nyx Institute." the voice was not feminine nor male, and seemed to have no source, as it traveled from around the whole large room. However, that particular voice had a sense of power in it, a certain power that somehow drove both two children to their knees in response to it.
Pat and Hari's eyes then turned to the large television, where the words "Password?" were now on the screen.
What is this? Pat thought to himself, as he then said nothing. Hari meanwhile too remained silent, as the word remained on the screen. Eventually, the silence was released, as Pat began to open his mouth to answer. "The Password is...Nyx?" he guessed, as the word then abruptly disappeared from the screen.
"Invalid Code. Have a good day." the cold voice then said once again, with a hint of steel in it, as the floor Pat and Hari was standing on suddenly split and half. As both two's eyes widened in surprise, their feet left the floor, which now was in two segments, as gravity overcame them and they started falling, into a dark pit below, leading them into an unknown place.

On the third floor of the orphanage building was where the cafeteria was. The cafeteria was composed of a large rectangle-shaped room. A long table was laid in the center of the room where several worn-out chairs were set, with orphans sitting in them. Ms.Kat too was present, as she sat on the last chair, farthest from the table, as if sitting near the orphans sickened her.
As the orphans' eyes remained on the dirty dishes on nearby them, they glanced at the set of peas and little food on their dishes in hunger. As Ms.Kat said nothing, silent as a rock, the orphans ate slowly.

Then a large noise was heard above. As the orphans then stopped devouring their dinner and glanced at the ceiling above them, Ms.Kat too glance at the ceiling in question. And she said nothing, as a soft yet wicked smile appeared on her lips. The ceiling suddenly collapsed, as two screams were heard from above. Almost immediately, the orphans sitting retreated from the table, near the walls and into safety as the ceiling immediately crashed onto the table, to Ms.Kat's pleasure.
On impact, a cloud of dust was released, which covered the whole room in a swirly mist. As Ms.Kat remained sitting, a broad smile was on her face. Meanwhile, the orphans remained latched onto the walls, terrified. Eventually, the cloud of dust cleared, as Ms.Kat and the surrounding orphans found themselves staring at two children amidst the collateral damage.

Hari's stomach growled. "Just in time for dinner," he murmured as he and Pat sat in the ruins of the ceiling and table.

Chapter Eighty-Nine: Ms.Kat's Punishment


Note: I should be able to finish the chapter by today, but I'm a bit busy, so there's a chance I won't be able to. Also, there's a large to medium chance that it'll snow a few inches in my city tomorrow, thus canceling school for the day. As you all know, no school means free time for a day, which equals more chapters able to be posted and written. Also, a new chapter cover is coming up, just a heads' up. Now, for this chapter...!


The scaly-handed Ms.Kat marched across the dust-filled hallways. Dressed in her usual attires, she was clearly enraged. A scowl was on her beady wrinkled-covered face, yet cruel pleasure was her true expression as she glanced behind her, at the two objects she was dragging across the floor with her scaly fingers.
Pat and Hari were the two objects being dragged slowly yet heavily across the dust-covered floor, where termites crawled around them, yet avoided them. The two were covered too covered in dust, from their crash from that mysterious room all the way onto the cafeteria. After crashing onto the table, or what remained of it, Ms.Kat promptly called a team of repairers. In a matter of dozens of minutes, a team of building engineers, painters, and such arrived on the scene. Quickly, all orphans were swiftly evacuated from the scene, as they all offered Pat and Hari a clap in the back as they made their way out, while pitying them of the punishment they would soon receive.
After all the children left, save for Pat and Hari, Ms.Kat then proceeded to grab them in their neck collars while offering a seemingly wicked grin at them. She then left the cafeteria as well, dragging a struggling Pat and Hari along with her.
Now in the dusty hallways, Ms.Kat stomped while treading across the dirty halls, dragging Pat and Hari behind her by their neck collar. As they one-by-one passed window-less rooms accompanied with plain beds and inhabiting orphans, Ms.Kat continued on her tread. Meanwhile, the orphans would offer both Hari and Pat looks of sympathy as the two children were dragged across the hallway. Ms.Kat however did not notice the orphans, fortunately, for she was too occupied with the sheer pleasure to thinking how to punish the two children.

Finally, after about a half hour of treading along the hallways, Ms.Kat finally halted to a complete stop. Now, she and the two orphans were now in a seemingly ancient hallway. The entire hallway was windowless and seemingly void of life; not even flies and termites were seen around. The hallway felt uncomfortably chilly, as if a cold draft was open. As both Hari and Pat glanced around at their environments, they felt Ms.Kat's grip on them loosen.
"Where is this?" Pat questioned to himself, as Hari then shrugged in return. "This wasn't even on the map they sent me," Hari then murmured to himself, however, he spoke in earshot of Pat. Hearing so, Pat then offered a curious glance at his best friend.
"What map?" he asked curiously. However, Hari could never answer his friend's question, for Ms.Kat's grip on the two children abruptly tightened. Both feeling the sharp scaly nail against their skin, Hari and Pat then closed their mouths, as they eyes both drifted to what Ms.Kat was gazing at. Seeing that Ms.Kat was gazing at a door, Hari and Pat soon realized that this particular door was in fact the only visible door in the abandoned hallway.
Then, they set their eyes on Ms.Kat's other hand, where a small ancient key was pressed against her wrinkly skin. Ms.Kat then loosened her grip on the key. Inserting part of it on the doorknob on the wooden door, she then turned the key clockwise by ninety degrees. With that, she then offered a wicked grin to Pat and Hari, as she then reached the doorknob. Turning it, she then pushed open the door lightly, revealing only darkness beyond. What beyond the door was in fact a small boxed room, devoid of any features except for the peeling wallpaper, the scattering movements of rats and termites, as well as the lone window that was latched on the northern wall of the room, offering a fantastic view of the Moon.

However, Pat and Hari wasn't seeing that, as Ms.Kat then began to drag them closer to her. Somehow managing to lift them up despite her seemingly frail structure, Ms.Kat then promptly threw the two orphans. They crashed the dirty floor with a dull thud, as Ms.Kat then smiled. Slowly walking into the room, she then shut the door behind her slowly yet cautiously.
"We can talk here," she said as she then slowly pulled out a gleaming object from her pockets. "And I can do whatever I want with your miserable orphans."
Hari's eyes widened as he glanced at the object in Ms.Kat's hand, which was a knife. He then glanced at Pat, who was motionless from fear. As Ms.Kat's smile seemingly widened, as her eyes began to glimmer with a hint of pure madness and pleasure, Hari's eyes widened. Slowly reaching into his pockets for an unknown object, his eyes abruptly narrowed in alarm as Ms.Kat then moved, aimed at Pat.
Dammit it, I won't make it in time! Hari then realized, yet still moving in reaction. As Ms.Kat's knife neared Pat, aimed for a vital point, Pat remained motionless from total fear, his eyes on the knife.

A figure stopped the knife. As Ms.Kat stood motionless in the dark room, her beady eyes glanced in fear behind her, where the dark figure stood, silent. Hari, meanwhile, was covering Pat, seemingly intent to offer himself as a human shield. Pat meanwhile remained motionless in terror.

"Well, this is what happens when I'm not here," Dante murmured lazily, as he offered a smile with a hint of steel at Ms.Kat.

It's something like that, but the Turn Back the Pendulum Mini-Arc is going to connect things. Its roots are deep, very deep in fact.

It's Patty's, Rose's, and Vatas's pasts connected, but yeah, these roots are going to be even deeper than that.
