The one problem I have with that idea is the fact that an idiot with no grammar skills can type in "1 us3 mah ras3ng@n to try t0 h17 u." and he could actually win despite the other person actually making a quality post. We could add bonuses for good posts and such, but then that kills the objectivity of the dice roll.

That's an easy fix in the long run.

On the one hand I don't see a ton of people talking like that in the first place, i see poor grammar and spelling errors, but for the most part people aren't that bad.

On the other hand, if someone's post is that terrible and hard to read, no one would play with them anyway. No battles=no dice rolls=no problem.

Edit: PS, i find it ironic that your reasoning against the dice function is actually my main reason for it, weird huh?

You know what? There are things in the current system, and in the old system, that you can adapt and build off of. Like, there are stats you guys never used that would have been freaking perfect, but that's all in the rant.

Yeah, I've thought about the idea in the past, but in the end was basically just too lazy to really do much with the idea.

What I was saying though is that we could still have the straight-forward back and forth battles, but also have this style, which uses some randomness and odds with it.

I think you need to go all the way or take everything out. A huge part of the problem is this half way jazz, if you're going to have a rule system you need to have a solid rule system, not a loose based one. If you don't want to deal with all the rules, then throw out everything, go back to freeverse and just make some user guidelines.

That's the problem though, you can't mix the two it just gets too confusing.

You're better off splitting it into two sections altogether, one for freeverse, one for people who actually want to roleplay.

Actually sounds like it would work out better. I'd like to still have that section where you can just FV in. That doesn't really require much work though, so I definitely think that you make a solid point on that and would prefer worker on a more thorough RP. I guess that just because I can keep up with my clusterfork of "organizing" for my books doesn't mean everyone else can.

I have an angry gamer rant, can i post it here?

So we're supposed to game tonight, we have a strict gaming schedule. Every Thursday night between 5-7 start time, until say 1 or so in the am. And then every other Sunday, game time varies.

So i send out 6 txts lastnight, hit up EVERY gamer in the group with the exception of Marie who was sitting right next to me.

"Who's gaming tomorrow? -My Real Name"

Here's what I get back from JB:

"Yea, what time?"
"I dunno, that's why i'm txting everyone"
"Hawkman can't play until like 6 or 7 does Joe want to play earlier?"
"I dunno he hasn't responded."
"Douche!"

See why I <3 JB so much? This was a simple and easy conversation they should all be like this! :mad:


Here's my convo with Pat:

"Who is this?"
"Really? I signed me name dude."

I mean... really?


This morning Joe txts me back:

"Are we gaming today?"

Ok timeout... if i send you a message asking if you're gaming today don't ask me the same damn question, skip the loop son! Get to the point!

Ok then joe and i go back a little bit, and i started getting b*tchy, fully admit to that. Which i think he could sense cause he writes this:

"What's wrong?"

Now I feel like the A-hole so I figure honestly is the best policy

"I have a lot of sand in my ;);););););) right now."
"Sounds itchy."
"Yea it burns."
"Tmi?"
"Nei."
"Nei? Does that stand for not enough information?"
"Yea."
"Then what would tmi be?"
"Tmi would be telling you about the pearl ima bout ta pop out in like an hour."

ok see now this goes on for another like.. 12 texts until he says
"So what time are we gaming?"

THIS IS WHY WE NEVER GET ;);););) DONE! :mad:

And if you didn't catch the math here, 6 txts minus 3 responses means 3 people who just didn't respond!

And then get this, i know they're gonna b*tch at me the next time i see them, "no one told me, i never got that message" LOOK AT YOUR F^CKING PHONE
