This is true. Gai is a great ninja but was no where near the level of Minato, yes the gates are powerful but Minato did not become the Hokage for nothing now did he.

I say Minato easily takes the first match as there being Prep Minato could just spam his kunai around.

Bloodlust is going to be a bit morer harder but seeings as Minato can react to A V2 in his younger days Minato could react to Guy's attacks.

And if Guy trys anything like AT or MP Minato could teleport the attack away like he did the Nine Tails Beast Bomb Blast which I think we can all agree Nine Tails Beast Bomb Blast > Afternoon Tiger. With that attack gone Guy will be tired and in pain for Minato to take the win.

Ten seconds prep is enough for Minato, giving him two minutes is like telling a gang member you slept with his significant other. Well not quite because it'll still take effort for someone to lift a gun and pull its trigger.

Scenario two is a bit more fair of a match, but unfortunately putting Minato, MINATO, up against a Jonin isn't the best idea someone's come up with.

Yes this is a pretty unfair match up although I would want to see Minato use a wind style Rasengan or anything that would add a release to that already extremely powerful Jutsu

how is this an unfair match??? u are making it seem that all Minato has to do is throw is knife and rasengan.. Gai Sensi is an expert on close to mid range combat.. i dont see Minato easily winning this like u presume. i think it would be a tough match for Minato... Minato can not win this just by teleporting and throwing rasengan. a 6th and 7th gate Gai will not get caught in that.. all guy has to do is make sure he now were the knife are like A did..

this site gets me so mad.. when a character is facing an other character with so much hype and not that many fest.. everyone always go with the one with the hype without even giving the other a chance... it gets annoying

i think Minato is one of the strongest characters in naruto but i also think there are characters that can compete with him as well.

Minato's teleporting technique is basically throwing knifes around the area where he can teleport back and forth.... what u do not seem to understand is the speed of Gai in the gates.. he is the only person in Naruto by far when showed to be soo fast that his attacks and speed cause frictions with the air;; (Sonic booms, making Craters when moving, And fire being set when punching... so me anything that A did that is comparable to this

I hate this match, because Gai's my favorite character next to Lee. The whole Hard Work > Natural ability thing relates to me, but match 1 won't take long for Minato. 2 minutes prep lets Minato set up kunai everywhere. I don't think even Gated Gai can keep up with the movements of Minato when using FTG. Minato doens't even need FTG, he just summons Gamabunta. All Gai has is a turtle.

Match 2: I'd like to say Gai can win, but he can't. Gamabunta crushes Gai, or just causes a large distraction while Minato sets a few tags and screws up Gai with a rasengan.

BTW, Kazumi is not a man, she's a woman. Get it right.

However Rin stated it as Body Flicker.
Body flicker and teleportation are sometimes mixed up, like in Narutos case. In the officially translated version I have she says its teleportation, and the tag on the guy's foot supports this too.

Though Minato saving Naruto from Madara is still a testament to his base speed, as Madara said himself. The Raikage & C also supported this so I'd think that's enough proof that he's still fast without Hiraishin.

Well unfortunately, Minato IS teleporting, and, Gai's punching speed has nothing to do with his actual movement speed and/or running speed, he's going to have a lot of trouble dealing with Minato this way. And since there's no speed feats you've provided other than the irrelevant hand movement speeds, Minato has him beat.

@Firsty, Most ninja shunshin regularly, what A did when he formed his afterimage was shunshining, Gai's going to have to do that too if he wants to keep up otherwise he's just going to be tens and tens and tens of times slower than anything A or Minato will do. Shunshin is when they disappear with a puff of smoke you know, well the smoke is just to cover their movements it's just fast movement so yeah, their speed, you haven't missed out.

listen!!!... Minato did not dodge anything... he teleported out of the way... there is a big difference.. one taking more skill then the other.. Minato's speed is nothing compared to Gai's speed especially in gates.. IT IS HIS TELEPORTING TECHNIQUE THAT MAKES HIM SEEM SO FAST THAT IT!!!
